What do you all reckon to Lucy?

I like it.

Love it. Sweet for a baby and little girl, classic and beautiful for a teenager and grown woman. They all get called Juicy Lucy but that's not so bad!

It's lovely It's quite popular, but that's not a problem if it doesn't bother you

I've never met a Lucy I didn't like.

Yep, it's a lovely name. We had it on the very short list for dd, but spelt Lucie.

In my DD's class there are 3 Lucy's and a hyphen-Lucie too

Not too bothered about it being popular, I don't know any Lucys but thought it would go with her big brother Ben

I've got a Lucia (pronounced Lu-see-a, as opposed to Lu-chee-a) but I also call her Lucy as it's a lovely name

It's on our shortlist. As PP said I've never met an unpleasant one. It just seems like a classic name, pretty but not too frilly.

I love it as a nn for Lucinda. Not saying it isn't a real name, I guess I just like long names.

I like it but prefer Lucille as a longer version.

Onedropoflove I also love Lucille, but can't help but think of it with a country and western twang and "why can't you be true" after it!

3mo DD is Lucy :) I've had so many unsolicited positive comments about her name, and she's the only Lucy at all the baby groups so far.

We have a Lucy. She's always been the only one in her class, her Brownies etc, though there have always been other Lucys in other classes in the school.

I don't think you can go wrong with Lucy; her brother has been known to call her loo-seat, but that's brothers for you. It doesn't get misheard as a different name (well, once, someone misheard it as Lizzie, but he was elderly) .

Personally I find it a bit wholesome, but some people like that quality I suppose. Also I think it's a bit short, and as someone who had a four-letter name I always wish I had a longer one!

I'm biased s dd(8yr) is Lucy. Its a lovely name. Classic without being common (as in overly popular). DD goes to a far sized school and only one other lucy the year above her in yr5.

She is mainly Lucy, sometimes Loose, Looby loo, Lou lou, but mainly Lucy.

*boom im the opposite I have a long name and always wanted a short name.

Works well for all ages and is popular without being overused.

I like it. Not too keen on Luce or Loo as a shortening though. It's on my future middle names list!
