With 6 weeks to go I thought that we had a name for ds2 sorted, OH now thinks it will lead people mishearing our surname.

Name would be Max Hoopz but oh thinks people would hear Max Coopz

What do you think?

I think it's clear enough.

Middleagedmotheroftwo · 01/10/2014 11:29

Is Hoopz really your surname? Cool!

I think Max Hoopz is fine too.

pinkyredrose · 01/10/2014 11:37

Doesn't sound anything like Coopz!

Sazhoopz · 01/10/2014 11:55

Thanks ladies, always nice to show him proof he is wrong!

Hoopz isn't real surname unfortunately, but only a couple letters different

Mack Hoopz might lead to Mack Coopz, but I don't think Max would.

OwlCapone · 01/10/2014 12:24

I think it makes the surname sound like Soups.

ChippingInLatteLover · 01/10/2014 12:28

I wouldn't use Max with Hoopz (or whatever your name really is). I would use a name that ended with a solid sound such as BeN, ToM, FreD. Anything that 'continues' merges too much with Hoopz (IMO)

BarryGoosey · 01/10/2014 22:37

I'm guessing OP's surname ends in "er" not "z"?

I don't think you'll have any problems!

squeak2392 · 02/10/2014 00:21

Nah, I think it's fine. Maybe if you're not paying attention you'll mishear it, but there's clearly two 'k' sounds in Max Coopz and only one in Max Hoopz.

JulyKit · 02/10/2014 00:24

So in class they can say 'That's super, Max Hooper!'
Like it. Smile

minkah · 02/10/2014 00:29

I agree with Owl, whose comment made me lol.

BreeVDKamp · 02/10/2014 17:38

I'm not getting a C sound at all!
