Elfreda?

Please could I have opinions on this name. I think this is the most popular spelling (?) so that's the one I'd probably use. Nick name (if any) would be Freda.

It made me think of spaghetti, unfortunately

I know a lovely Elfrieda. Prefer that spelling.

I also thought pasta, made by santa's elves. Sorry!

It makes me think of the Elves in the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit.

Maybe people are thinking of fettucine alfredo?

I think the pasta connection is the similarity to Alfredo? Otherwise I am lost.

Pasta = Alfredo sauce. Think it's a bit like carbonara.

But why is nobody concerned about this pasta link when it comes to the name Alfred - that's much more similar imo.

Elfrieda sounds very different to my ears, as does nickname Frieda.

My nan was Freda. (Winifred). I like Freda. I've heard quite a few around but not too keen on Elfreda

I like it. It sounds a bit old English / Scandinavian to my ears.

I love it -- I would spell it Elfrieda though.
