My very American toddler is named Margaret, thank you! :o

But yeah, she's wrong even for the US. Eleanor and Josephine were both on my list. Rose is the middle name around here...it's like Marie was when I was in school.

I'm not keen on the resurgence of 'granny' names, but this woman clearly hasnt done her research! Also, seriously, Rose, Eleanor and Josephine?! I wasn't aware they'd ever 'died out'.

Worked in DDs primary school until very recently. Martha, Eleanor, Rose and even a Phyliss there. And my niece is called Josephine. Tosh. ;)

I don't think American naming trends are that different -- the article is as wrong in the US as in the UK.

BUT -- there is a Fanny in my daughter's preschool!
