DD1 is a Hermione which we love and suits her very well. We get the odd Harry potter comment but always positive and I don't really mind.

Now expecting DC2 and think it's a girl judging by what we were told at scan. All sorted for a boys name but DH and I only really agree on currently one girls name which is...

Hattie

But Id always assumed it would be Harriet for long, is Hattie a nickname for anything else?? If not do we look like two crazy Harry potter fans with a Hermione and a Hattie or would no one actually notice?!

Thanks

I think Hattie is fine.

If she's called Harriet though relatives, friends, or she herself, may like Harri.....!

Hettie (Henrietta) any good as an alternative?

ilovechops · 19/09/2014 15:52

Yes think we would just have to go Hattie as the full version!

The only other name we both liked is Harper but does it just scream Beckhan these days?! Probably yes!

You love H names!

Not sure about Harper and Beckham connection. Should think it will last, as Harper Beckham herself is on the news all the time which will no doubt continue through her teens etc as it has for her brothers, the Geldofs etc.

IMO I wouldn't assume harry potter when confronted by a Hermione and Harriet. But no reason why you couldn't choose hattie as a standalone.

noitsachicken · 19/09/2014 16:00

Who is Hattie in Harry Potter?

moxon · 19/09/2014 16:01

chicken Hattie > Harriet > Harry

ilovechops · 19/09/2014 16:02

There's no Hattie in HP but was thinking if we had chosen Harriet she may end up a Harry in the end...

Hermione and Harriet is fine, particularly is Harriet is known as Hattie rather than Harry.

ilovechops · 19/09/2014 16:02

Good point on Harper Beckham! Think will leave that one out of our (very) short list

Hattie short for Harriet. Harriet coudl also shorten to Harry.

So you have Harry and Hermoine.

I like your names, but I'd prefer not to have children with the same initial. It bothers some and not others I know!

ilovechops · 19/09/2014 16:06

I know it's strange but they boys name we like is also an H!! Can't seem to move away from this letter but perhaps need to do some research. Others on my personal list (DH has not agreed these yet) are:

Cherry
Eden
Robyn
Nina
Blake

I don't like really girly pretty names it seems and prefer something a bit stronger I think. Any thoughts on these? Surname is long ish and begins with an A.

Oh I get it now.
I don't think it's a problem, I did not make the connection, just don't call her Harry!
I love Hermione, was on our list last time, but my Dad saying it in a west country accent put me off!

noitsachicken · 19/09/2014 16:38

Love Robyn!

m0therofdragons · 19/09/2014 16:40

Oooh side point but I really like Hettie... Not that I'm pg or anything

charlieheather · 21/09/2014 18:40
