It would be used as a middle.

Thoughts? Opinions?

Nice.

squeak2392 · 16/09/2014 22:53

Nice. I don't know what its popularity is like now, but it's pretty popular among boys in my age group, so it's pretty to me.

I think it's anything goes when it comes to mns though.

squeak2392 · 16/09/2014 22:53

Ach

it's pretty boring* to me

OldCatLady · 16/09/2014 23:08

Nice name, classic, simple.

Sophronia · 16/09/2014 23:12

Boring as a first name but more unexpected as a middle name.

lucyclaudeclaude · 16/09/2014 23:17

Sounds chavvy, sorry

elQuintoConyo · 16/09/2014 23:20

Dreadful. Sorry Thanks

ralinax294 · 17/09/2014 21:04

I like it, what would the first name be?

Lunastarfish · 17/09/2014 21:10

i love it, my dad is Brian and am tempted by it as it is similar, however, i do think it is a tad chavvy. i may still go for it one day though, i was born on a council estate so can get away with it!

eatyourveg · 17/09/2014 21:22

Please don't!

I've only ever met one, I like it.

MultipleMama · 17/09/2014 22:19

ralinax294 - First name would be either Ilya (eel-yah) or Feliks. The former is the front runner.

And yes, they are both spelt correctly (Russian spelling/variant) for anyone who asks :)

Love Ilya! I know a lovely boy (well teenager now) called this.

Really don't like Ryan but you rarely use middle names so might be ok.

NachoExpress · 18/09/2014 10:15

I think both Ilya Ryan and Feliks Ryan go together well :)

Leeds2 · 18/09/2014 10:21

I wouldn't use Ryan.

DogCalledRudis · 18/09/2014 13:58

Its nice. It maybe very frequent these days, but popular names means big part of population think they're nice.
Personally myself i'd prefer Rylan.

pilates · 18/09/2014 19:52

Awful, sorry.

CPtart · 18/09/2014 19:57

Er, no.

LetticeKnollys · 18/09/2014 20:12

I think it's a nice name, and it works well with both of your first name options. I actually think it complements them very well, because the first names are both less well known names and Ryan is a short, simple and strong name - it makes for an effective contrast if you see what I mean.

I think some MNers see anything which isn't in-your-face middle class as 'chavvy', but I regard Ryan as fairly classless. My DS name has been called chavvy on here and there has been a US president called it - if that isn't passing the high court judge test, I don't know what is!

MultipleMama · 18/09/2014 20:13

Rylan reminds me too much of him from Good Morning. Grates on my nerves.

Huh, I thought Ryan would be one of those simple names that almost everyone liked. Especially compared other common names like Jack.

I do like Seth, too. But I've seen how much it's been disliked on MN! Grin

birdofthenorth · 18/09/2014 20:15

Like it.

Gl0ssy · 18/09/2014 20:16

Boring but as somebody said, unexpected as a middle name. I think it's a bit too sur namey for my taste but others don't mind that.

MultipleMama · 18/09/2014 20:16

I got that impression too, lettice.

I've never heard of the judge test though... I think all my DC would fail it!
