Bill (full name William)

Not Ben ;)

We had the girl's name sorted but not the boy's!

Middle name Christopher.

It has to be another short name I think!

Bob or Jim or Dan or something.

Stan/Stanley
Max/Maxwell/Maximillian
Tom/Thomas

CherryPie3 · 09/09/2014 17:17

Love Stan :)

HenriettaTurkey · 09/09/2014 17:41

Thank you all!

Favourites from the list are Joe/Joseph and Stan/Stanley (although I'm not sure DH would go for it, even though he's a huge Laurel & Hardy fan. I also love Jim/James but DH has known too many & it's a name with associations. As is the lovely Nathan, sadly.

Harry & George have too many royal connections to pair with William, sadly.

Max & Thomas are family names already.

I quite like Theodore (Ted) but would then have Bill & Ted. How bad would that be?!

RalphGnu · 09/09/2014 17:44

How about Theodore (Theo)?

HenriettaTurkey · 09/09/2014 17:54

Do you mean as opposed to Theodore (Ted)?

It's cute - but would I just end up calling him Ted anyway? Grin

Julian (Jude)
Andrew (Drew)
Edgar (Ed)
Jeremy (Jem)
Nicolas (Nico)
Lawrence (Larry/Lawrie)

HilariousInHindsight · 09/09/2014 20:25

Brad (Bradley)
Jay (James)
Josh (Joshua)
Tom (Thomas)

I personally like Brad or Jay the most.

What was your girl's name? Perhaps the male version of that would be suitable?

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 09/09/2014 20:26

Lawrence?

HenriettaTurkey · 09/09/2014 20:28

The girls name was Miriam - I can't think of a boy version!

Marcus

AnythingNotEverything · 09/09/2014 20:51

Don't go for Ted. Not a good sibling match.

I met a toddler called Jim recently. Excellent name.

HenriettaTurkey · 12/09/2014 11:30

So I'm veering towards Joseph (Joe) Christopher.

What do you think? Too vanilla, or classic, adaptable and appropriate?

OP posts:
Surfsup1 · 12/09/2014 11:38

Joe and Bill (Joeseph and William) sounds great! Both classic and strongly masculine but with friendly, casual nns. I also like that the nns are not too cutesy or twee.

CherryPie3 · 12/09/2014 11:57

I think Joseph Christopher is perfect. It flows very well, pairs up nicely with brothers name both as full name and nicknames. Good strong classic names :)

HenriettaTurkey · 12/09/2014 12:28

Yay! Thank you!

I love Joe. Great boy name. Suits any age, any job, any part of society. Great choice.

BikeRunSki · 12/09/2014 12:57

Robert/Rob, Bob or Bertie

BikeRunSki · 12/09/2014 13:01

Joseph Christoper is brilliant. Exactly the type of name I'd chose (v similar style to DS's name). Nothing wrong with "vanilla" names - I want my children to be noticed for their personalities or achievements - not their names!

Pebbles0934 · 13/09/2014 06:03

Arthur? Art?

Bill and Ted! Ha ha!

Samuel? Sam?
Joel?

winnertakesitall · 13/09/2014 06:46

Rowan or Myles/Miles?
