Haven't been able to find anything we both like to go with Doug as a middle name...any suggestions gratefully received!

Doug on its own is hard to match. If it were Dougal or Douglas I'd put James first.

I'd go for Scottish names (but I love Scottish names anyway) so something like Cameron, Callum, Cambell, Hamish, Ruaridh etc.

Thanks chinamoon - it could be Douglas Smile

I also prefer Douglas to just Doug.

What kind of names do you like, classic, unusual, popular?

Depending on the length of the surname, I think Christopher Doug could be quite nice.

Ethan Doug
Joshua Doug
Samuel Doug

Just realised these are all Biblical!

James has been suggested, how about Fraser?

Thanks everyone, think we'll go with Douglas - I liked Doug as I feel it sounds friendlier but it's not great in the middle! Also the person who we're remembering through this was a Douglas so that's better too Smile

Our starting point for finding his first name was going through the top 100 and have used the one we like with ds1!

Only other one there that is a contender is Alfie.

Quite like Theodore (with Teddy) but our surname starts with T so sounds a bit much!

Open to all types of name suggestions!

I love the name Douglas. Why not use it as a first name.
I also love the name Alfie. People say it's faddish and will become unfashionable but Alfred is a classic English name - name of kings and poets and all sorts of people through the ages.
Love Teddy/Theodore/Theo too. You have good taste in boys names. Cute but manly, fashionable but classic.

Aaah thanks chinamoon

My grandad (Douglas) died last year and we want to use his name but I think my mum and Grandma might find it hard if ds2 has it for his first name. Need to discuss it with them though as I really like it Smile.

Dh likes Alfie and I suggested using Alfred and then calling him Alfie so we might think about that one a bit more...and Theodore because I really like Teddy too (and oddly enough, my Grandad's best friend was called Teddy!)
