Great :) like Kirsty as well.

ataposaurus · 12/08/2014 20:26

I like Kirsten - not heard it for a long time. Also like Frances. Could take or leave the Rae bit.

frames · 12/08/2014 20:30

Kirsten I like

scratchandsniff · 12/08/2014 20:31

Very nice

bringbackfonzi · 12/08/2014 21:36

I really like Kirsten. It's pretty and quite unusual now. Frances is nice too. Not so sure about Rae - is it a family name?

burgatroyd · 12/08/2014 21:39

Not to my taste. Sounds a little dated.

Theonlyoneiknow · 12/08/2014 21:44

Really like Kirsty and Kirsten. And Rae!

Sophronia · 13/08/2014 01:06

Kirsten Coughlin doesn't sound great, imo...

bac1985 · 13/08/2014 08:42

Rae is so the intitals are not KFC.

Kirsten Frances Reya Coughlin is another possible name, or maybe Kirsten Frances Phoenix Coughlin.

But not sure on Phoenix to be honest.

Any suggestions?

Itcantbelove · 13/08/2014 08:48

Kirsten is lovely.

Phoenix doesn't seem to match.

bac1985 · 13/08/2014 10:51

Kirsten Devon Frances Coughlin?

OP posts:
insanityscratching · 13/08/2014 11:01

It's a bit eighties for me. I don't think Phoenix "fits" with Kirsten Frances though tbh.

squoosh · 13/08/2014 11:03

Can't throw a stone in Scotland without hitting at least three Kirstens.

MagicSwirlinShip · 13/08/2014 11:14

I love it, it was a name I suggested for dd2, when she was nameless at 2 days old. My dh didn't think it suited her, so we called her Kirsty and it was definitely the right choice. Both names aren't so popular for their generation (although I have nothing against popular names, dd1 has a popular name) . I like Frances too.

FreckledLeopard · 13/08/2014 11:15

Really like it!

weegiemum · 13/08/2014 11:17

I like it. What about Kirsteen?

florascotia · 13/08/2014 11:23

Squoosh - I would very much agree with you about popularity of Kirsten/Kirsty among adults in Scotland, but it seems to have fallen out of favour a bit for babies. I just looked up the stats, and for 2013 in Scotland. I was surprised to see so few.
Kirsten 5 babies
Kirstin 2
Kirstyn 1
Kirsty 20
Kirsty 3
But the Scottish population is so small, that I suppose over 30 babies with approx the same name is actually significant. The most popular girl's name in Scotland in 2013, Sophie, was given to only 474 babies.

myotherusernameisbetter · 13/08/2014 11:41

I don't know any little Kirsten or Kirstys - It was a name we had at the top of our list (along with Mairi) for both our boys who are now 14 and 13.

I did come across a little Shona recently which I haven't heard for ages.

My current favourite is Lorna

I have however come across a Corstaidh who would maybe be about 10.

squoosh · 13/08/2014 11:44

You're right flora I suppose most Kirstens/Kirstys would be 18 years and up. Can't believe there were only 5 Scottish baby Kirstens born in 2013!

NuggetofPurestGreen · 13/08/2014 13:57

What about Kirsten Frances Bean Coughlin? (Given your other thread) Wink

Squtternutbaush · 13/08/2014 14:05

I'd leave it at Kirsten Frances Coughlin tbh, no one will notice the initials its not like you use them often really.

Although I do have an irrational dislike of the name "Rae" because almost every second child around here seems to be double barreled with it and I generally dislike Phoenix

bac1985 · 16/10/2014 11:45

What do you think of Kirsten Veda Coughlin?

OP posts:
JeanChappa · 16/10/2014 12:05

Oooooh I like it. I may steal it! Grin If I'm honest though I don't think Kirsten goes well with your surname. I think it's because they both end in N. Kirstie Coughlin sounds much better IMO.

BlueStarsAtNight · 16/10/2014 12:37

I don't like the flow of Kirsten Coughlin either, though I don't dislike the name Kirsten. I really like Frances though.

bac1985 · 16/10/2014 15:12

I know what you mean by the flow of the name. But we like Kirsten too much.

Kirsten Frances would be our first choice but the initials would be KFC.

So now were thinking Kirsten Veda Coughlin.
