My choice, DH's choice and the kids' choice for Dd2 due any day now, in no particular order -

Nancy
Kitty
Marnie

I love all 3 but have slight reservations about them all individually.

Other considered and discarded choices include:

Bea/Beatrice
Leonie/Leonora/Leni
Agatha/Aggie
Sylvie
Cecilly/Cece
Violet
Eleanor/Nell
Maude
Adeline/Addie
Ramona
Willa
Dorothy/Dot/Dotty/Dory/Dorrie
Joni
Elsa
Frances/Francesca/Franny/Frankie
Harriet/Hester/Hattie/Hettie
Jeannie

Please help us decide, I'm worried she won't want to come out unless she has a name Wink

I like them in the order you've written them:

Nancy
Kitty
Marnie

If you go for Kitty, you could have Katrina or Catriona as the full name, so as not to use the same name as your other DD.

Marnie sounds harsh and American to me.

Nancy Grin

Kitty is my favourite, I love it, followed by Nancy.
I can't stand Marnie, sorry - I just think it's awful, cheesy 80s American horrible name!
From your discarded list I adore Sylvie, Cecily and Francesca. Sylvie would be my pick!

Marnie is lovely :)

I know a toddler Nancy too, v pretty x

NadiaWadia · 03/08/2014 18:17

Marnie is nice and not 80s at all - makes me think of the 1960s film with Tippi Hedren (sp)?

Kitty is cute but quite little-girly for a stand-alone name.
Nancy is a bit meh.

To be honest I much prefer your discarded choices, particularly Ramona, Francesca, Eleanor, Leonie. But if you must have one of the first three, then Marnie.

Nancy by a mile for me - Kitty is twee and would be embarrassing at interviews, etc and Marnie I just dislike the sound of (personal preference not sure why, it would be second over Kitty though!). Nancy is pretty and cool, really like it.

Hurrah for all the Nancy love! I think my disappointment that not many people were choosing it at first confirmed to me that it is my favourite. burgatroyd 'nerdy and playful' I like a lot.

I don't really get the American 80s vibe from Marnie. My main concern with it is the 'our Marnie' = Armani problem. Not thrilled with the Geordie shore connection either!

100% Jeannie!

My daughter is named a name on your reject list and while pregnant with my youngest son I was convinced he was a girl. My short list was Nancy, Betsey and Jeannie. There are so many nice girls names! I think I would have gone for Nancy, choose Nancy!
