Dh really likes Hattie but we already have a Harry. Full name would be Hattie Autumn Elisabeth, it's starting to grow on me but am not sure about it going with Harry or what reactions I would get to it as it's not a name I've heard anywhere before (apart from Hattie Jacques Smile )

I like it and it reminds me of Tom's Midnight Garden. I don't think it matters that you have a Harry

wrapsuperstar · 30/07/2014 23:48

I have a Harriet who is almost always, always Hattie. So whilst I understand that Harriet probably isn't an option for you, I just wanted to affirm that Hattie is a bloody super name. Wink.

Cpt1sock · 30/07/2014 23:50

I like it but I think it's a nn for Harriet, people would assume you have a Harry & Harriet which I think is a bit odd for siblings.

burgatroyd · 31/07/2014 06:44

I have met two baby Hatties in the last four months. Its jolly.

MsBug · 31/07/2014 06:48

I like it but it's too close to harry, I'd assume it was short for Harriet too

squoosh · 31/07/2014 10:40

I think it's dreadful, really frumpy.

hatsybatsy · 31/07/2014 10:43

I like the name but think it's a NO if you already have a Harry?

Lottie?
Evie?
Lucie?

UriGeller · 31/07/2014 10:46

Awful. Its the name of a chubby little Shetland pony.

TessOfTheFurbyvilles · 31/07/2014 12:17

Given that Hattie is a short form of Harriet, which is a feminine form of Harry, you'd basically be giving both children the same name.

It's like people who names a daughter Elizabeth, and then one Isabel, when Isabel is the Spanish form of Elizabeth. They might be different, but at the root, they're the same name.

So as much as I love Hattie, is a no from me.

DitzyDonkey · 31/07/2014 12:31

It's very pretty

HerbieRidesAgain · 31/07/2014 12:31

What about Hettie?
Harry and Hattie are a bit too similar for my taste

ACM88 · 31/07/2014 13:18

Love Hattie/hettie!! Not at all frumpy, or ugly, really really pretty

Clawdy · 31/07/2014 14:12

It's lovely and reminds me of the sweet little Hattie in Tom's Midnight Garden. Agree it doesn't sound quite right with Harry though.

DilysMoon · 31/07/2014 14:50

Thanks all, pretty much what I thought. I do love Lucy hatsy but fancied something a bit more adventurous, but Lucy is about only girls name we do agree on Smile

I like it but I would prefer it as a nn. For Harriet or maybe Henrietta, but obviously you can't do that as you have a Harry. Personally I would look for another name..

Floop · 31/07/2014 16:42

They're both derivatives of the same name. Like having a Henry and Harry, or George and Georgia.

Too close for me.

ShovettyMcShovetty · 31/07/2014 16:44

Hmmm they are a bit matchy... It might look like you have no imagination and just named them the same thing in male / female versions...

DramaAlpaca · 31/07/2014 16:44

Lucy is lovely, and goes much better with Harry.

I don't think Hattie works, sorry.

DilysMoon · 31/07/2014 18:20

Another I like is Betsy or Bessie which she would be called but have Elisabeth on birth certificate. Dh not keen..,

aoife24 · 31/07/2014 21:02

It's lovely, sweet.

ChickenMe · 31/07/2014 21:27

Betsy is so sweet
Charlotte nn Lottie?
Leticia nn Lettie? (Lettice is a bit too wacky?)

MsBug · 31/07/2014 21:32

Katherine nn kitty?

Stretchmarksarethenewblack · 01/08/2014 22:18
