Non girly girls names

Am trying to get some inspiration for girls names. I like names that aren't too 'girly' for want of a better word, things that end with 'y' or 'a'.

Names I do like (but have discounted for various reasons) are
Anouk (love but doesn't go with surname)
Harper (but Beckham connection...)
Laurel
Rowan
Bethan

Any suggestions of similar would be appreciated Smile

Im bit like you I dont like girly girly names although Sophie is my top choice this time and that is very girly. I also tooing and throwing about Darcey wouldnt say thats a girl name.

My other daughters are Casey and Paige dont particually think they are girly names

These are totally my kind of names. Some brilliant suggestions on this thread. Bethan and Seren are in my top 10 and Rowan would be too were it not recently used for a family baby.

I like outdoorsy, sturdy-girl names. I'm considering
Fern
Amber
Hazel
Sylvie

And also like
Rafaelle
Margot
Bryher
Quinn
Mathilde (nn Matty)

I wanted non girly and went for Megan and I love it. She's 7 months now and mainly Meg or Meggy. It was a last minute name choice at 6 weeks old because we really couldn't decide.

I had a few suggestions that have already been mentioned, with the exception of Leonor. It's a recent love of mine. Leo, Nor, or Nori as nn's, ans if she were very feminine, it feels like a name that is feminine while still sounding regal and strong.

I have a Margaret and love it for her. She is a tough little thing; a "frilly" name wouldn't suit her. We do call her Maggie a lot though.

PomPomPingPong · 22/07/2014 18:55

Margot
Dilys
Olwyn
