I have a DS, Teddy and am expecting a DD. I really like Tess. Are they too similar sounding?

I think so, yes. Teddy and Tess sounds like a Cbeebies program.

weatherall · 04/07/2014 20:14

That fine.

Anna and Hannah wouldn't be.

I know of a Finn and Fion!

SideOfFoot · 04/07/2014 20:20

I think that's fine,

vallinnapod · 04/07/2014 20:36

Ohh considering maybe I could pitch that and they could earn their keep Wink

Thanks for the views.

It's a bit matchy but not outrageous. Love the name.

And teddy night not always be a teddy if he is an edward? So he might be an ed or ned?

I have a theory that people have a liking for a certain phonetic sound in names they like and inadvertantly have a preference for other names with the same sound when choosing sibling names. I have friends whose children both have an 'eh' sound in the middle, and other who has two with a hard K. Mine both have an m in the middle.

I think your names work well together I have met siblings with far more matchy-matchy names. Babyfedleaning is right. We are often attracted to certain sounds. I have a friend whose children all have "ll" in the middle of their name. Another with 3 children ending in "ie" and another family where all children quite deliberately had rhyming names.
