Hi,

What do you think of the name Drew for a boy?

Don't like sorry

sebsmummy1 · 02/07/2014 21:35

I really like it!

vapourviper · 02/07/2014 21:36

Like Andrew, you could use nn of Drew.

Allalonenow · 02/07/2014 21:37

A cool nn for Andrew.

DramaAlpaca · 02/07/2014 22:01

Yep, a good nn for Andrew.

Bowlersarm · 02/07/2014 22:03

Yes, I like it.

Nereida · 02/07/2014 22:30

I prefer it as a nickname for Andrew.

BeckaH123 · 03/07/2014 11:07

Don't like - I knew one when I was a teenager and he always got called "Drew the poo" - what imaginative people they were to come up with that! The nn did kind of stick though which was unfortunate.

Love Andrew / Andy though.

florascotia · 03/07/2014 11:30

It is a shortening of Andrew and - very sorry - am not keen. I much prefer the full name.

Don't mind alternative shortening Andy and really quite like Andra, which is usual in some parts of Scotland.

Onesleeptillwembley · 03/07/2014 11:37

It's very wet. Adult Drews probably have grubby (nit hipster) beards and sandals with socks. Slight mysoginist tendencies but think he was 'right on' supporting the the little ladies. Only child of incredibly doting parents. The most self centred person imaginable. Hate it. if you've met him you'll know exactly who he is!

sebsmummy1 · 03/07/2014 11:39

PMSL, I don't see it as wet at all. Names like Julian or Walter I see as drippy, Drew to me is cool.

florascotia · 03/07/2014 11:44

Meant to say that Drew is also a surname, of course. So if - for example - it's a family name and therefore has special meaning for you, then that's rather different.

DitzyDonkey · 03/07/2014 11:53

Really dislike it!

bac1985 · 03/07/2014 12:14

Thanks. I don't think we will go with Drew :)

I like it. Both as a shortening for Andrew or as a name on its own. (I have a friend called - just - Drew. He is not at all wet. Couldn't use the name for ds though as dd's name is the same as his dw!)

squoosh · 03/07/2014 13:34

Not if your surname is Peacock.

Gingerjv · 03/07/2014 15:15

Not the best choice to my mind( there are so many more other beautiful names!

chockbic · 03/07/2014 15:19

I like it.

More unusual than Andrew.

PoshPenny · 03/07/2014 15:23

Prefer the full Andrew with Drew as preferred nickname.
would worry other kids may refer to him as Drewpy one day though....
