Boys name short list

We have a girls’ name all sorted, but still debating a boys’ name. We’ve whittled it down to a shortlist:

Patrick (my favourite, a family name, but DH likes the least)

Arthur (a new favourite, but worried it’s going to shoot up in popularity)

Clement (really like this, but my boss has a baby grandson with the name and I’m worried that as it’s so unusual they will think we’ve copied, and people will talk about us at work, even though it’s been on our shortlist the whole time we’ve been ttc – 4 years!)

Seamus (we have Irish background and lived there for 5 years, but a couple of people I’ve mentioned it to think it’s strange and too Irish for an English baby)

Gilbert (love Gil as a nickname, but not so much Bert/Bertie, which is putting me off)

Any thoughts on these? Or any similar names we may not have thought of? Names we have had to discount are Gabriel and Reuben (others in the family) and Ambrose (love it, but think it’s a bit too strange). So we like names that people have heard of, but not too common and a little bit old fashioned.

Hx

I thought it would be nice to post the name we went for in the end - we chose Patrick. Couldn't imagine him being anything else now! X
