Timeless or 70s?

We're thinking of going with Zoe Christina for DD2. I like the historical significance of both names - Byzantine empress and the truly epic Christina of Sweden - and 'Christina' was the name of my GGM. It also 'goes' nicely with DD1's name.

I'm just worried that the two names together sound a little late 70s/early 80s rather than timeless and pretty. Am I over thinking this?

Yes, you are. They sound lovely.

Castlelough · 29/06/2014 04:44

They sound lovely together!

Do you pronounce Zoe like Joe or Zoe-y?

ThePieSmuggler · 29/06/2014 07:26

Lovely name, much prefer Zoe to Christina but that's just my personal preference

weatherall · 29/06/2014 09:36

Zoe feels quite timeless.

MN's don't really matter.

Nereida · 29/06/2014 23:13

Timeless and pretty

BackforGood · 29/06/2014 23:25

Lovely - you might be overthinking Smile

DramaAlpaca · 29/06/2014 23:25

It's a fabulous combination, and I love your reasons for choosing the names.

Dovahkiin · 29/06/2014 23:50

Thank you all so much xxx

I met a 2 week old Zoe the other day if that helps

Ludways · 01/07/2014 12:26

My 8 yo ds has a friend called Zoe, I think it's timeless and is great with Christina.

newpup · 01/07/2014 13:06

Beautiful names. Really lovely and a refreshing change from all the usual popular names.

DiamondsAndRust · 01/07/2014 13:18

Zoe Christina is beautiful - although as a Zoe myself I'm slightly biased!

I was born in the early '80s (I think it peaked in popularity around then) but now I'm a teacher I've come across Zoes of all ages, and I think the name is still used fairly regularly, though 'quietly'.

I love my name; it seems to have dated much better than most of my friends' names, and somehow manages to feel both classic and a little quirky. Flows really well with Christina too. I say go for it!

deadwitchproject · 01/07/2014 13:33

Timeless and very lovely names.

Frikadellen · 01/07/2014 14:38

To me 70s/80s names not timeless however they are pretty and if you love them go for it.

CroydonFacelift · 01/07/2014 15:59

I LOVE the name Christina. Definitely timeless.

Zoe was undoubtedly popular in the 80s, but its a good name and doesnt sound dated/tired.

BlueStarsAtNight · 01/07/2014 19:02

I love it, flows beautifully and doesn't sound dated at all.

funnyoldonion · 01/07/2014 21:23

Love Zoe x

Amy106 · 01/07/2014 21:28

Beautiful name.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 03/07/2014 08:57

Lovely names. Yes Zoe was popular in the late 70's & early 80's but I really don't think it sounds at all dated now ??.

Christina is great too, not so 70's/80's though as there have been Christina's about much longer than that.
