Sienna?

Hi I posted earlier asking thoughts on either Olivia or Elsie and it confirmed to me that Olivia is my favourite out of the two. However, whilst discussing this with DH before he said that he really liked Sienna now too (this being despite him vetoing it a few months back when I suggested it!!!) so now that ones a contender again too?

Sooo....thoughts on Olivia or Sienna please?! Sorry, promise I won't ask again! Smile

Olivia. I think Sienna will date badly.

Alisvolatpropiis · 28/06/2014 19:16

I commented on your other thread (and demanded you tell is the other name Grin).

Still Olivia for me. I really want to like Sienna, but as pp said I think it will date badly.

As far as popularity goes, I know more Sienna's than I do Olivia's. Might just be my area though.

keepyourchinupdear · 28/06/2014 19:16

Don't like either; I think they'd both date badly.

Youdontneedacriminallawyer · 28/06/2014 19:16

Olivia is very popular round here, and Sienna is a town, not a name. I like Elsie though.

Bowlersarm · 28/06/2014 19:20

I was an Olivia vote on your last thread when it was up against Elsie.

But I really love Sienna, so id go with that.

(Savannah any good?)

It makes my teeth itch.

Tried hard & will (hopefully) be out of fashion soon.

Stick with Olivia.

OutragedFromLeeds · 28/06/2014 19:28

I really like Sienna and Olivia, but I wouldnt use either of them.

For me, Sienna is a little....chavvy? That's not quite the right word, but what I mean is it seems to be popular amongst people who name their child after minor celebrities. That would put me off even though it's actually a lovely name!

manicinsomniac · 28/06/2014 20:47

I like Olivia - it can only be so popular because it's beautiful. We only have about 1 Olivia per every 2 year groups in the school I teach I (approx. 50 per year 3 - 13 year olds)

Sienna - I'm not sure. I think I like it. I know it's supposed to be top 50 but I have never met one, of any age. Which is weird because I've been teaching for 9 years and always involved with kids before that.

I think I might choose Sienna though

DramaAlpaca · 28/06/2014 20:49

I was on your other thread, and I still prefer Olivia.

threepiecesuite · 28/06/2014 20:57

Sienna is very popular on the extremely rough estate I work on. Hear lots of Si-yenners being bawled at regularly.

Em1503 · 28/06/2014 23:05

Haha I think we're still favoriting Olivia. I'm just awful at making decisions like this and want to start making personalized bunting and a cushion with her name on this week so I want us to make a final decision! Thanks for all the replies!

Olivia is ridiculously popular in Australia, so I would never use it. Along with Isabella or Ava. It is a sweet, classy name, though.

There's something tacky-trendy about Sienna (sorry). I think it will date very badly, too.

burgatroyd · 29/06/2014 08:32

Sienna, lovely but tacky.
Olivia, beautiful but popular.
Elsie - least favourite and twee.

Will think more names and return...

clouberrieswait · 29/06/2014 11:29

Every other girl seems to be Olivia, livvy, livvie, liv or some variation thereof.

I think Olivia will date the most given its vast popularity, followed by Elsie which has only lately come back into fashion.

Sienna is ok. It reminds me of the artist oil colour

squoosh · 29/06/2014 13:41

I definitely think Olivia will date, it's had such a sudden surge in popularity.

Sienna will probably date too but of the two I prefer it. You could spell it Siena and call her after the beautiful city of the same name.

burgatroyd · 29/06/2014 15:32

OK I'm back...

Shona, Elke, Ophelia?

Nereida · 29/06/2014 23:17

I prefer Olivia to Sienna.
