Rosalie when I've already got a Jacob

We named our son Jacob as we liked the name even though twilight was pretty popular at the time. He's nearly 2 now & we haven't had anyone ask if he was named after the twilight character thankfully!

However I am now 23 weeks pregnant & thinking of Rosalie if its a girl. Would that be going a step too far? Its the only name DH have agreed with so far!

I did make the connection but only because you were asking if it was a problem. If you introduced me to your kids with ' this is Jacob and Rosalie' I probably wouldn't notice anything.

I would spell it Rosalie though. I think id I saw Rosalea written down I'd be trying to say 'roh-ze-lee-a' (Rosa-Leah)

I really love Rosalie, and always admired the actress Rosalie Crutchley.

I like Rosamund and Rosalind also as mentioned up thread. I don't like the Rosalea spelling, she would forever be correcting spelling, and it would just seem that the parents couldn't spell.

I didn't get the connection with Jacob at all, I'm not a Twilight fan, also as she gets older how often will she be introduced with her brother?

Rosalea is somehow closer to cup of tea than Rosalie imo.
And to me it would look like Roz-ahl-ee-a, like a hybrid rose-azalea..

I would see no issue with having a Jacob and Rosalie -- I agree Twilight was a fad (and is already well over and gone).

Husband is still not budging on the spelling. He thinks Rosalie pronounced Roh-sa-ly! There are a couple of songs & a play called Rosalie so i feel this vindicates my way of spelling it!

I worked with a Rosalie years ago, she was lovely and it's a lovely name - I would go for it! But please use that spelling, not Rosalea, Rosa-Leigh, et al.

Twilight is a fad. I don't know anyone over the age of 15 who reads or watches it.

Rosalie is lovely.

I also wouldn't associate them with Twilight. Maybe if it was Bella.

But don't use Rosalea! You/she will forever be correcting spelling and pronunciation!

Lovely names! I know the books and films well and also didn't make the connection. Probably because the characters aren't really connected. Do they ever even speak to one another?

Emmett and Rosalie would be a no-no, I think; Jacob and Rosalie no problem.

After reading this thread, DH has agreed to the spelling Rosalie Grin. Thank you mumsnet!
