I need 2 girls names...

DS is Isaac and we've just found out our twins are pink Smile

DH and I cannot agree on any girls names and tbh I don't feel I love any girls names.

I like names ending in 'a':
Olivia - too common?
Ava - ditto

DH is set on Nuala but I've gone off this name.

Lucy is a possible which obv breaks my 'a' rule, again I'm worried she would be one of many.

Any suggestions??

I have a Tabitha and an Ada. I've a friend of a friend who has twin girls Tabitha and Jemima which i think is lovely and fits with your 'a' ending?

I also love Nora. And Romilly.

Julius02 · 04/06/2014 21:40

Not all names which end in a but I like them, so just to throw them into the mix...

Vivienne
Juliet
Karen
Harriet
Zara
Fionnuala (sticking with the Irish name theme!)
Athena
Cora
Frances
Maud

TweeAintMee · 04/06/2014 22:04

Is there an Irish preference? How about Moira?

Dukketeater · 04/06/2014 22:09

Lila & nala

familyfortunes · 04/06/2014 22:09

No Irish preference.

I think this is going to turn into a saga for us...anyone else struggled to agree names??

Sylvia

Aurora

Yes we did, but we didn't name until we'd met the children.

On the bright side, conflict provides some fertile material for name choice! Invent your own using it as inspiration e.g.
Saga
'Patra
'Pica
'Rama
Pabla

Good luck...

Sylvia and Lydia/Olivia

Heidi and Hazel

Samantha and Amanda

How matchy-matchy do you want the twins to be?

wigglesrock · 04/06/2014 22:20

Cara, Anna, Stella, Julia, Emer, Maria.

I have an Olivia (she's 6), she's the only one in the year in her school, but don't tell anyone (it seems drive people into a rage that she's not one of 6 Wink )

I know siblings called Olivia & Ava - it's lovely when you hear it said out loud iykwim.

Nocomet · 04/06/2014 22:25

However hard you try to make twins be separate people their names will forever be said in the same sentence.

They will always be Anna and Emma, Isabella and Cassandra even if they hate each other.

Thus it's wise to have similar length, but not too rhymey names.

DessieLou · 04/06/2014 22:27

Love Nuala! Personally i would avoid 2 names ending in 'a'. How about...

Norah & Kirstie
Nina & Lucy
Olivia & Katie
Catrina & Francine
Ziva & Georgie

ChestyNut · 04/06/2014 22:45

Love Lucy and Ava (or Ella)

LauraChant · 04/06/2014 22:50

I don't think Lucy is that common (as in lots of them) - I don't know any Lucys. One Lucinda aged 6.

I also like Harriet. Other ideas: Lydia, Luisa, Leila.

Alita7 · 04/06/2014 23:09

If you like nuala what about fionula with Nula for short, or fiona or finola which I think are just different versions of the same name.

If not how about just livia or olive.

If I had twin girls they would be Liliana and Beatrice.

I also like Fae and Rose/a, Alicia and Emma, Delilah and Katrina, Clara and Eliza, Athena and Hera, Kaiya and Esme, Erica and Anita, Freya and Kiera and Alexandra and Catherine.

Fizzyplonk · 05/06/2014 05:02

Know of twins called
Georgia Rose and Harriet Grace

Lydia?

I haven't known many girl-girl twins but the ones I have met are:

Anna and Amy
Hester and Beatrice
Harriet and Emily
Jacqueline and Evelyn
Kerry and Donna
Annabelle and Charlotte

Of those, all but Harriet/Emily and Annabelle/Charlotte are now at least 16

florascotia · 05/06/2014 10:15

It may not matter, but Olivia is very popular - no 2 in England and Wales in 2012. Lucy less popular at no 27.

It suits her

CormoranStrike · 06/06/2014 00:32

Lydia and Erica
Harriet and Aurelia
Jennifer and Molly

soontobeslendergirl · 06/06/2014 14:40

Everytime I see Nualla written, I think it says Nutella

florascotia · 06/06/2014 15:59

But it doesn't sound like Nutella, and it usually only has one 'L'. It's pronounced here: www.babynamesofireland.com/nuala

PetaPipa · 06/06/2014 16:17

Jessica and Abigail
Beatrice and Lydia
Laura and Frances
Frankie and Ramona
Naomi and Rebecca
Valentina and Sylvia
