DH and I have recently discovered the following name for a girl, and it's become one of our top 2 for a girl but cannot decide on spelling and are after opinions.

Darcie
Darcy
Darcey

For a GIRL not a boy ;-)

To the posted who suggested naming her Anna like a good mumsnetter. That would be her middle name ;-)

Thanks to all who have commented. None look particularly bad or good with our surname. But we have an older child who's first name ends in "ie", which is why I'm considering that as a spelling too x

I'd say if you have an older child whose name ends in ie that it would make sense to use a y.

Oh I did laugh at 'D'bumsy'! Grin

I know two and they're both Darcey (plus Darcey Bussell of course).

I don't know if there's a 'rule' as such though.

My friends did register their daughter as Darcy but then said that they'd found out that was the boys' spelling so they had it changed.
