DH and I keep going back to these names but we just can't decide.
Niamh or Caitlin
Rory or Charlie. I prefer Ruaridh spelling but ds has ruled that out. He also prefers the spelling nieve but I stuck to my guns on Niamh.
DS is F inlay.

Niamh and Rory. Nieve is made up isn't it?

PancakesAndMapleSyrup · 12/05/2014 10:53

Niamh

EyelinerQueen · 12/05/2014 10:55

Rory (roar-ee) and Ruaridh (Roo-ar-ee) are completely different names.

Nieve means snow in Spanish. Niamh is an Irish name.

My vote is for Rory and Niamh.

Rory and Niahm sorry I can't spell it and can't see your post when writing on phone app.

Theonlyoneiknow · 12/05/2014 13:01

All nice names OP, hard to decide!

Probably Rory just a smidge over Charlie.

Niamh and Caitlin I like equally, both great names! But Niamh definitely spelt that way

ToffeeJungle · 12/05/2014 13:18

Caitlin is fab!

Not sure out of your boys names... Maybe Rory just.

DramaAlpaca · 12/05/2014 15:05

Niamh & Rory.

Leeds2 · 12/05/2014 18:27

I love Niamh and Caitlin.

Not keen on either Rory or Charlie.

Vijac · 12/05/2014 18:28

Niamh and Charlie

funnyoldonion · 12/05/2014 20:04

Caitlin with Finlay definitely, beautiful name and I prefer Rory. I only like to hear Irish names on Irish people not sure if you are it not obviously but someone round here has used Niamh and it bugs me they're not even half Irish just a personal peeve x

funnyoldonion · 12/05/2014 20:06

Oh of course Caitlin is too, oops egg on my face, well same goes x

SweetPeaPods · 13/05/2014 20:22

Ooh very mixed opinions. Think we'll have to wait till he/she arrives. I just don't want the same as ds we took a week to decide!

I like Niamh and really hate Nieve, if any use?!

hotteaorcoldwine · 14/05/2014 06:52

Eyelinerqueen is right - Rory and Ruaridh are completely different names.

How would you pronounce Caitlin? The traditional way or the Americanised way - I dislike the Americanised way personally "Cate-lynn".

Niamh is the correct spelling.

Do either of you have Gaelic roots? Makes more sense if you do, then you wouldn't be arguing over Gaelic spellings or pronunciations...

WhereHas1999DissappearedToo · 14/05/2014 07:20

Niamh and Rory. Both lovely names.

Busymumto3dc · 14/05/2014 07:22

Niamh and Rory

ILoveCoreyHaim · 14/05/2014 09:36

I have a Niamh, it's not a made up name it's Irish and the name of a fictional Irish princess. I printed the story off for DD years ago. Think it means bright. She hates her name as people call her Ni-amph or ny-am or other various pronunciations. People when writing it also tend to write it the American way - Neave
