Genevieve. I have told her this for years and she loves the name Genevieve and wants to change it. I am dragging my feet as would be awkward to get used to and hard and confusing for family, friends, school. Should we just go for it?
Am thinking we could change it casually for a bit and see how it goes. We try but keep forgetting and just call her Hannah again. Husband won't be able to change don't think.

Hannah is cool because it is the same in reverse. I think you should big up the name 'Hannah' and she will feel more comfortable with it. Then, w
hen she is older she can change her name by deed poll if she still wishes.

I think it is possibly just a phase. I think she picked Genevieve as she new it was the nearly name and then I started to get all the old topsy turvy tummy feelings I had back then. Turns out really she just wants to be called Jenny anyway.

Thank you so much for all your really helpful comments especially the non judgy ones. What I remember mumsnet so sweetly for. Used to be addicted to this site when my kids were babies.

Knew not new. And anyway she seems to have moved on and so have I. Hannah is staying Hannah. And we will worry about something else this week. First world problems eh!

Hannah is a beautiful name, so elegant and unpretentious, no problems with spelling anywhere in Europe. I would definitely consider it if I ever have another daughter...
