Our daughter is one week old. Please help us chose from this shortlist. Other suggestions welcome too..

Ida
Matilda
Phoebe
Claudia

We have probably already crossed off Vivienne and Florence from the shortlist.

Middle name we like is Rose. Again, other middle name suggestions welcome.

Google Ida Lupino. She was a phenomenal actress who went on to be one of the first female directors - she was a real trailblazer for women filmmakers. I never really liked the name until I saw her. Her scenes in They Drive By Night (1940) are unforgettable.

Wishfulmakeupping · 19/04/2014 19:15

Ada is lovely too

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/04/2014 20:02

Really like Claudia. Congratulations!

Thank you all so much for replying. My DH is blown away by how lovely everyone is.

Ida Rose is definitely front runner so we are going to try it out for a few days before announcing.

Vivienne is lovely, I would go for that. Second would be Claudia.

Ida is a bit old lady and Matilda is super popular and will date quickly. Phoebe is ok.

bouncingbelle · 19/04/2014 23:31

Claudia rose is beautiful. Phoebe rose also lovely.

Pother suggestions would be Aila or Isla.

bouncingbelle · 19/04/2014 23:32

Sorry, hadn't seen you are going with Ida! Congratulations! :)

missingwordsround · 20/04/2014 13:09

Congratulations !

Ida is gorgeous.

I like Matilda but know lots, so that would put me off a little (though there are lots for a reason - it is a lovely name)

claudia was on my list for a possible DD 2 (never happened Sad ) so definitely a name I love! Also like Clara.

Vivienne is beautiful, but I hate the nickname Viv. Could be used as a middle name? Not so keen on Phoebe or Florence

Rose is very pretty - but seems to be the only middle name round here - or Mae/May/Mai, which again would put me off.

Ida Rose is lovely.

I love Frances and offer it up to anyone having a girl solicited or not

Longdistance · 20/04/2014 20:45

Clara Rose?

BrianTheMole · 20/04/2014 20:49

Claudia Rose is a lovely name. Its great actually, I really like it. (I know you're going with Ida though)

Winnie101 · 20/04/2014 20:54

Congratulations! They're all beautiful options. I particularly like Ida Rose though, it's a gorgeous name.

thegreylady · 22/04/2014 09:18

Matilda is very popular atm. The other names are all lovely though Phoebe Rose would be my first choice, I love the gentleness of it :)

Graciejoylove8 · 22/04/2014 13:30

Claudia Kate. Just to confuse the issue. :)
Congrats on safe arrival of the LO

nikki1391 · 01/05/2014 20:06

I love Claudia Rose

AMI88 · 04/05/2014 13:28

Congratulations!

April Rose is my number one choice, closely followed by Lottie Marie.

atypicalwotsit · 04/05/2014 21:42

I like Ida.

Rose is lovely but in past four months know three newborn babies with middle name rose. That and May seem like a bit of a middle spot filler.

atypicalwotsit · 04/05/2014 21:43

Know a baby with first name Rose and that seems a lot nicer in pole position

EldonAve · 04/05/2014 21:47

Claudia

Universal · 04/05/2014 21:51

Ida or April are both beautiful names. I love them both. Congratulations!

Oh I think I like April the most.

Vijac · 04/05/2014 21:59

I like all of them but Ida and Matilda best. I know two Ida's and they are both pronounced with an e sound (both from Northern European countries). I know some people pronounce it with an I sound. I like both but just thought I'd let you know the variance. Not that it really matters but some people may read it incorrectly.

atypicalwotsit · 04/05/2014 22:28

I love suggestion of April Blossom. Sorry but Rose is so overused as middle name. Does this bother you OP?

RadioFourNotRadioSnore · 05/05/2014 16:22

Jennifer Rose or Genevieve Rose.

Freckletoes · 05/05/2014 16:24

Greta?
