Imogen, Beatrice or Juliet?

Pinkandwhite100 · 16/04/2014 16:23

Please can you tell me which of these names you like most; Imogen, Beatrice or Juliet? Also, given that I like these names, can you think of any others I might like please?

I also like the names Felicity, Florence and Clementine but can't use these because I have nieces with those names.

Eveline is another favourite of mine but it seems to be very popular now... Should this put me off?

Thanks

I love Beatrice and juliet :)

Confitdecanard · 17/04/2014 18:21

We had these three on our list - when I saw the thread title I thought maybe it was a resurrected one that I had started before DC2! I like them all but Juliet is probably the most unusual at the moment. We also liked Harriet, Bridget and Leonie.

Beatrice, then Juliet, then Imogen

Alisvolatpropiis · 17/04/2014 20:32

Juliet.

It's lovely and woefully underused.

NearTheWindymill · 17/04/2014 20:35

Juliet's lovely. Never heard it shortened to Julie. There is always the occasional Juliet about. DD (who is nearly 16 had three Imogens in her class at primary school).

Helena, Verity, Christabel, Ophelia, Ottilie, Xanthe.

Juliet - I know loads of Imogen's and Beatrice's

Notname · 17/04/2014 20:43

All three of those were on our short list of four. Along with Martha which we chose, love and get lots of positive reaction to (tho I goes the less positive isn't said to our faces!).

Blondieminx · 17/04/2014 20:45

Imogen is v popular round here!

I like Juliet best from your list Smile

Biscuitsneeded · 17/04/2014 22:55

Juliet.

BlackberryandNettle · 17/04/2014 23:11

Juliet or second choice Beatrice. I dontbreally like Imogen but not sure why. Genie or Imi are nice nicknames though....

How about Eliza?

aoife24 · 18/04/2014 11:51

Beatrice for me.

Graciejoylove8 · 18/04/2014 12:54

Juliet :)

GiddyUpCowboy · 18/04/2014 12:55

Imogen.

JaneOnAJourney · 18/04/2014 12:58

Juliet....t'is my name and it's a beautiful one :-)

nelliebgoode · 18/04/2014 13:05

All three are lovely. Congratulations on such great taste! Beatrice is a wonderful character and gets the best lines for a Shakespearean woman- if that matters to you.

Eleanor?

DD's middle name is Juliet, I love it but mainly gave it to her after our amazing midwife (outs self), but didn't give it to her as a first name as I hate the NN Jules or Julie

Imgoen I really like too but not keen on Immi. However I love Beatrice and I love Bea so that's what I'd go for

You can't really ignore NN as someone somewhere will attempt to shorten the name

squoosh · 18/04/2014 15:22

Juliet

MaxsMummy2012 · 18/04/2014 15:33

Definitely Juliet, lovely name.

YouGrateMyCheese · 18/04/2014 16:14

Juliet. No contest.

MademoiselleG · 18/04/2014 16:18

I love all three - there are definitely many Imogens and quite a few Beatrices around. Juliet is at the top of our current list so there!

You might also like other French sounding names, like Mathilde, Madeleine or Margot, given you like Beatrice and Juliet.

Pinkandwhite100 · 18/04/2014 16:29

So my DH is really unsure about Juliet because he isn't keen on Jules or Julie... It's such a shame because Julietis a really gorgeous name. I'm only 22 weeks pregnant so there's still time to change his mind!

MademoiselleG - thanks for the other name suggestions. Should have said that my name is Madeleine so I can't go with that but Mathilde and Margot are lovely.

Thanks again for all the comments - it's SO helpful.

Juliet and Imogen are GORGEOUS. Beatrice is also nice, though, so I don't think you can go wrong with that list.

Onyabike · 18/04/2014 18:46

Juliet is such a gorgeous name! If you want a nickname but don't like Jules, she could always be Etty/Etta? Fwiw, it would never occur to me to shorten Juliet to Julie as they are completely different names!

tilbatilba · 18/04/2014 19:01

All beautiful but adore Juliet - Julie totally different name and I'm sure you wouldn't get it as a nn. Love Violet too.
