that are still masculine, strong and sexy?!
I know it's a tall order but any suggestions would be gratefully received!

Seth is definitely not a country club name in the UK. Are you in the US by any chance?

Based on your brief I'd have said Myles, Giles, Jasper, Maximilian. Bit posh!

bouquetofpencils · 03/04/2014 23:03

Country club makes me think of tartan, stag heads and whiskey.

Hamish

Peregrine

And DH says Bob.

firstchoice · 03/04/2014 23:05

If you are going a bit Scottish then Hamish is v v nice and v 'clubbable' as a name.

firstchoice · 03/04/2014 23:08

Do think Max is a nicer alternative to Rex too?
Still has that short 'regal' sort of ring to it?

Max Arthur?
Hamish Arthur (one v Scottish and one v English though!)
Charles Arthur (isn't that the 1st two of Prince Charles' names? - the Princes of Wales have always been quite 'clubb-able' chaps, I believe?)

Digby

bochead · 03/04/2014 23:11

Cannot believe my lad's name came up on this list. We are so far from the country club set that it isn't even funny!

Rupert
Toby (Tobias)
Oliver
Edwin
Edmund
Cedric
Stuart
James
Monty (Montgomery)
Quentin

Lots of these names are handed down the family line from eons ago so you end up with Enthleberts choosing to be called Berty and Monty etc.

Endymion · 03/04/2014 23:13

Bertie (Wooster)

I love Montgomery but no sex appeal I'm guessing?!

Montgomery/Monty could work.

NurseyWursey · 03/04/2014 23:19

Is this for a book or...?

ThatBloodyWoman · 03/04/2014 23:21

Sorry I see Julian has been very done.

The chairman of the very posh golf club I worked at was called Mac Elder. Not sure what Mac was short for though Grin

That's why I was asking usual. Seems weird wanting a 'masculine, strong and sexy' for your baby boy Confused

NurseyWursey · 03/04/2014 23:34

And 'old gentleman country club' just reminds me of pervs for some reason
