I know Amelia is popular but is Amelie too?

I don't know of any of the latter personally, is Amelie much less popular?

I work at a school and know LOTS of teenage Amelias. Amongst younger children, especially the daughters of friends and colleagues, Amelie seems to be very popular.

Emilia was on my list for DD, but DH vetoed it. I'm glad he did, as it's so common now (along with Amelia and Amelie, the former of which I like, and the latter of which I intensely dislike).

If I had another DD, I'd call her Verity.

Amelia was the number 1 baby name in 2012 (about 7,000 of them). Amelie was number 51 (about 1,000)

I know more Amelies than Amelias though.

Also know more Amalies than Amelias but all about 5-7 now. Seemed to have peaked then where we live.
