Not long left and this is our final short (actually quite long!) list!

Please tell me your opinions, surname is one syllable beginning with a D. I love old fashioned, traditional names which have a bit of an edge and not too girly.

Matilda - have loved this since I read the Dahl book as a child but seems to be very popular atm.
Alice - I really like this, dh's fav but is it too girly?
Harriet - love this and think it's a bit less popular than the others?
Cecilia - my grandmother's name.
Kirsten - a bit different and love the way it sounds quite Scandinavian and pretty without being overly so.

What do you think? x

Love them all but love Hattie so would probably go for Harriet Matilda.

I love Cecilia and Alice, like Harriet and Matilda.

Matilda is popular, Alice fairly popular and Harriet becoming more so but that may not bother you at all.

If I were you, I would go with Cecilia Alice.

Harriet Cecilia.

Pippacat85 · 30/03/2014 12:41

Ooh Cecilia Alice sounds good and her initials would be CAD whereas Matilda Alice would be MAD! Doesn't bother me hugely but might bother her! x

All nice, with Cecilia my favorite.
Prefer Alicia to Alice

I like Alice and Matilda. Don't think Alice is too girly nor that Matilda is that popular ATM. Really don't like Kirsten though sorry

Wishfulmakeupping · 30/03/2014 15:31

Harriet is my favourite from your list but I really like Cecilia or Alice as mn.
I really dislike Matilda and Kristen isn't to my taste.

Seminyak · 30/03/2014 15:56

I'm a Harriet and heard 2 (adults) being called Harriet on a day out today. Gutted!! And I think Harriet is much more common now than it was when we adult Harriets were born. But perhaps it depends on area.

(My MN is on your list too!! :) )

I'd pick Kirsten for the same reasons you mentioned.

Chloerose75 · 30/03/2014 16:19

All nice. Alice and Harriet are my favourites

Reastie · 30/03/2014 16:23

I love ALice, but then I would as I have my own Alice!

Really like Mathilda and had that on my list for DD but decided against it as it's very on trend at the minute and I thought it would be like the equivalent of a Sharon or Tracy in the future (ie short fad then unpopular/uncommon again).

Harriet is nice as is Cecelia.

Kirsten is a lovely name. Unusual and a bit quirky.
