If your (male) DP could choose their own name...

I am 7 months pregnant with DC2, we don't know the sex and are really really struggling to come up with any boys names that we like.

If your DP could choose his own name what would he like to be called? I may be deluded but am hoping that this might throw up the lovely boys name that is also great when worn by a man.

My ds is Gregory but without even asking him I know l he'd do is lose the "ory" as he loves being Greg but despises Gregory.

dunsborough · 16/03/2014 09:23

He said Optimus Prime Grin

When pushed to give a real answer, he said Jorge or Banjo.

toastedteacake · 16/03/2014 10:22

My DH has a name more common for his parents generation and before that. He said he would

toastedteacake · 16/03/2014 10:23

Oops! Posted too soon.

He said he would like to be called Ben.

NunsArePeopleTooDougal · 16/03/2014 10:28

DH is Martin but says he would have chosen David if he could. I don't think that's particularly helpful OP.

womblesmissus · 16/03/2014 10:37

My Dh is called Roderick , gets called Roddy by all but his parents. Likes his name so much he says if he had a daughter he'd call her Rodaminta -think he just made that up ! Thankfully we have no children .

MyNameIsKenAdams · 16/03/2014 10:40

DH says he would pick the name he has - inventive. Its Thomas.

Cuxibamba · 16/03/2014 11:15

He would like to be called Callum, apparently Smile

Wishfulmakeupping · 16/03/2014 11:17

My partner would keep his own name he loves it and wanted jr version if we had a boy (vetoed by me) his name is Scott

Theonlyoneiknow · 16/03/2014 17:50

DP said he has always liked Timothy, i prefer his real name

pinkgirlythoughts · 16/03/2014 17:55

DH says he would pick the name he has... Tom

BrunoBrookesDinedAlone · 16/03/2014 17:59

Just put this to DH, he replied - 'Not Duncan'.

We don't even know a Duncan, so it must be some primal hatred thing.

Mogz · 16/03/2014 18:01

DH says Max Power Hmm not sure you're going to get many serious answers. Although thinking about it Max works well.
Oh no, now he says Calvin.

FabBakerGirl · 16/03/2014 18:02

My 8 year old said Draco (not his actual name)
My 41 year old said Simon (his own name)
My 12 year old said Thomas (his actual name). I told his why and has said Gordon, Craig, Martin, Shrek Hmm.

HmmGrin.

Pegglebot · 16/03/2014 18:04

Another Ben here, apparently every Ben he has met has been 'decent'

Hippymama · 16/03/2014 18:08

He says Algernon Hmm

Hippymama · 16/03/2014 18:09

^ this is why I'm having final say on our boys name when he arrives in a few weeks!

vestandknickers · 16/03/2014 18:10

Just asked my DH. He said Thor or Scaramanga.

Hope that helps.

AuditAngel · 16/03/2014 18:10

I just asked DH (who I must warn you is half Spanish/half Italian, this will be relevant) and his answer was Espantaleon. Translation: Lion Scarer

This was his great grandfathers name and had we known that, it would have been DS's middle name.

Well thanks to everyone's DPs for their input. We've decided... And Scaramanga it is! Grin

At least you all managed to get some kind of answer. My DH has 'no idea'.

I didn't. Mine said "Dick Butler. Special Agent."

Catchy.

Caramelle · 16/03/2014 23:40

Hubby says Connor.

treaclesoda · 16/03/2014 23:48

Mine would say Monty. He is a fan of Withnail and I. I think he's joking...

EEatingSoupForLunch · 17/03/2014 00:01

Mine said that Adolf is a nice name which got a bad press.

(He is joking).
