Names you can get one syllable nicknames from?

DD is Elizabeth nickname Beth. These are the sort of names I like best, short and unfussy. Can anyone think of any of these sorts of names? Boys and girls?

The few I can think of I can't use for various reasons - Edward, William.

Mo as a nickname - I've known a Maureen (poor woman's only in her late 30s) and a baby Morag with this

All of them, really, kids make their own NNs.
I knew a Judy who became J, Victoria who became Vic or Tor, Margaret could be Maggs, etc.

It's funny people always say that children pick there own nicknames and that's not my experience of it at all. My sister and I both have names you can get obvious nicknames from but because my mum never used them no one else did.

My DD has been Beth since she was 2 months and no one has ever called her anything else.

I like short simple names but I don't think I'm brave enough to use a nickname as the full name on birth certificate etc.

I have a Caitlin (14)who was always called by her full name until she stared secondary school and decided she wanted to be called Cat. We also have a Robyn (3) she gets called all sorts, Bob, Rob, Bobby,Bobbinogs,Robson,Robbieroo. I think any name can inspire any nickname. My Mum is Elizabeth but know as Molly because her Uncle used to sing her to sleep singing Molly Malone!

My DD is Meg and we toyed with Margaret or Megan but in the end just stuck with Meg on the BC.

Beth and Meg / Margaret may be a bit "Little Women" though.

Jess/Jessica?
