After months of agonising over a name, why am I still unsure we picked the Right One?!!

DD is 7 weeks old,it took months of agonising on here, and days of agonising in RL after she was born. We ended up picking a name we hadn't even considered before she was born, and now I keep going back to the ones we had on The List and wondering if we should have chosen one of those instead.

Her name does appear to be a bit 'marmite' but then so is DS's and that never bothered me in the slightest...

Tell me it's just the hormones,or the sleep deprivation....or something.
Please?

I remember your threads too. I really like your taste in names, loved your other DC names and think this little one has got a really unusual but pretty name which is easily pronounced.

Love the nickname too.

It is an absolutely beautiful name :)

Sounds fabulous to me. One little thought, Greta can be short for Margareta, so perhaps you could adjust to that, but not use it, if it felt more usual? But, ignore the nay Sayers.

I think it's a really awesome name. Really cute, quirky and strong.

I have four children, and both my girls I could have given umpteen different names to. One has a very popular name and the other a name that is swiftly gaining popularity yet I considered uncommon. I often wish I'd been brave enough to use the more unusual names we liked. Sometimes I feel like I'll just have to have more babies to use up all the unused names I loved.

Beautiful name.

Love Greta!

I love it. My DS name is a marmite name for sure. We had exactly the same reactions as you describe! With DD's name, which is much more mainstream we have had "oh what a lovely name!" which we never or rarely had with DS.

I struggled with DS's name when introducing him for a while because I was worried about people's reactions but now it doesn't bother me at all :)
