Is Cassia the next Katniss?

Help! My beautiful new daughter is 15 days old and my partner and I can't decide on a name. The only name we seem to agree on is Cassia, as in the cinnamon bark. We've been pronouncing it Cass-ee-uh.

After a bit of googling I've found out that it is the name of the female protagonist in a teen trilogy called Matched by Ally Condie which Disney bought the movie rights to. Annoyingly she pronounces the name Cash-uh, as in Russia or like the Polish name Kasia.

Do you think there is a chance that Cassia would be the equivalent of Katniss in a few years time?

Also, which is the most common way people would pronounce it? I don't want her to be explaining it the whole time like trying to explain her name was See-oh-ban, when everyone else would call her Siobhan/Sha-vawn

I've read that book. Its good. I would say it Cass-ee-a. Obviously the bit where she explains how to pronounce her name passed me by in the book. Not wanting to be obvious but Cassandra? with nn cassia? I think if it becomes a big hit film (I dont think the book can be that big but then I'm not a teenager) then people will only have heard of the name from there. I didn't realise it was a "real" name. I thought it had been made up for the sci fi book. Though tbf it could be cool to have one's own disney character (note you will be obliged to buy her all the merchandise!). I missed out as a child from not having an ordinary common name that people printed on pens etc.

I know a Cassia (Cass-ee-uh), it's a beautiful name. I've not seen Hunger Games so not heard of Katniss, but it is certainly not in the same league as the lovely Cassia.

I would pronounce it Cass-ee-uh. Beautiful name. I wouldn't worry about the movies. You could pick a really unusual name, and a popular movie/book could come out with a character called that in the next few years anyway. There's always that risk no matter what you choose. And most people wouldn't associate them anyway, so I say pick what you love!
