First name and surname ending with 'ee' sound

What do we think of first names and surnames ending in the same sound? For example 'Katie Denby', both 2 syllables, both ending with an 'ee' sound. A problem or not?

Please note both of these names are made up!

I know a few people with this and I wouldn't question it tbh.

Mrsindecision · 20/01/2014 20:22

No problem IMO

CormoranStrike · 20/01/2014 20:40

Depends on the names. Amy Mee or Ashley Lee don't work, for example.

justsodamntired · 25/01/2014 20:55

I had this (with ee sound) and HATED it!

BlueStarsAtNight · 26/01/2014 13:39

I wouldn't do it tbh, I don't think it flows nicely

Xavielli · 26/01/2014 19:44

I don't see a problem with it.

Halle Berry, Billy Connelly, Marie Curie, Mickey Rooney.

Xavielli · 26/01/2014 19:45

(Connelly obviously has an extra syllable but still...)

YoHoHoandabottleofWine · 26/01/2014 22:31

I think it is only a problem if they have same number of syllables AND start with same letter, eg Maisie Marley, Betty Berry, Romy Rooney etc (apologies if I have just offended anyone...)

My first name and maiden name both ended with 'ee' sounds. Never really thought of it as an issue. Someone one said it sounded like I should be a TV news presenter with that name.

My first and surname both end in a y ['ee'] sound. Its never been an issue and I don't really notice it.
