Am totally stuck for boys names. They have to easily pronounceable in english and french, and go with Michael (family name passed down on DP's side)
I like classic boys names with potential for nn like:
Thomas
Alfred
James
DP has vetoed above as he doesn't want "anything out of Eastenders or any other soap"
Harry & Oliver were apprently "too posh".
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

My first thought was Thomas.

Others: Alexander, George, Luke, Robert, Richard, Paul, Joseph, Simon?

Or a non-farty Peter?

DP does not say what he does like, just what he doesn't like Angry.
So far the rules are not someone on telly, not "too posh". He also doesn't want something ending in in -el because of the alliteration (ie Michael Daniel, or Michael Samuel).
So far am liking Joseph and Miles although I know that he will say "there's a joseph in Corrie and a Miles in Home and Away".

How about Edward/ Edouard or other names with dual spelling in English and French, or would DP think too posh?
Similarly George?

qazxc · 01/01/2014 23:24

I'd be using an english spelling as we live in ireland or the poor kid will be forever correcting the spelling (like i did living in france with a name that sounds the same but with "english" spelling IYKWIM). As long as my side can pronounce it easy enough, it's ok by me.
Edward was on my short list, but got vetoed because of twilight.
I'd say since the new royal arrival George will def be deemed "posh" Wink.

My favorite name is Daniel. If you would like to see any suggestion visit: www.babynology.com - That is an online directory of baby names with meaning of any origin.

I can't think of any Louis' on TV, I think it's a really lovely name, and goes well with Michael too!
