What are your first thoughts when you see the name Cerys?

Also, how would you pronounce this name?

It's a lovely name - pretty easy to see and say.

I'm Welsh - it's pretty popular. Carys is a bit of an old lady name IMO.

Cadi is quite popular too.

Btw the PP who mentioned Eleri - it only has one 'r' (just in case you planned on using it). It's a lovely name.

It may be the case in Wales, I can't comment on that, but in Scotland where I am, it is definitely a young girls name.

Never heard of either being an old lady name here * although i dont know any others called Cerys or Carys

I meant Carys! But it might just be me - I just knew lots of old lady Caryses growing up. All the Ceryses I know are in their 20s.

Both are nice sounding names though, and easy enough for people outside Wales to say/spell.

Pronounced Kerris.

I love it, but am probably swayed by the only Cerys I know being the absolutely lovely 4 year old daughter of a very good friend of mine .

Bizarrely after i posted above i met another little girl called Cerys in the supermarket. She was delighted when I said my DD had the same name.

Lovely name. I ex h's neice is called Cerys and I believe that was chosen because of a Welsh family connection. My cousin, who is Cornish, has a daughter called Kerris. I like both, easy to pronounce, not too outlandish but still unusual. Only downside might be people spelling the name wrong.

I'm a Carys, in my 20s. Never met an old lady Carys, or Cerys but I suppose I will be one eventually
