Never know how to say Joshua - i.e. Josh oo a or Josh wa and Josh is a boy's name not a man's.

Love William. I like Joshua but don't like it shortened to josh which is inevitable. Not keen on Arthur, sorry

My vote is Arthur, William and then Joshua. I'd have Arthur myself if it wasn't suddenly popular in my area. I love Art and Artie. I don't love William or Joshua but they are both fine, useable names.

In order of preference I would put them;

Arthur
William
Joshua

I think William is probably the most popular at the moment (certainly quite a few baby/little Williams around here). Joshua was very very popular around 10-15 years ago but I don't know of any little Joshuas at the moment.

Arthur is lovely, getting more popular but not overused I don't think. I really wanted my friend to call her baby Arthur but she went for Henry instead! Xmas Grin

Arthur is my favourite but if you are using Bill as nn for William then that might edge it

Thank you. So far there is no clear front runner.

We would not choose to shorten any of the names so no Artie, Bill or Josh. Obviously that might happen at school etc but it would not start at home.
