A few of these sound to me like they would be more suited to girls names tbh.

Sebastian and Josiah are fine but Josiah might get nn Jos, which sounds girly to me.

patienceisvirtuous · 07/12/2013 10:08

Beau is the nicest sounding of those.

ToffeeJungle · 07/12/2013 10:45

Jesse, Joss & Skyler sound a bit feminine to me .

I like Sebastian, Finnian & Josiah.

Other suggestions:
Jonah
Elijah
Zacharius
Amos
Silas
Lysander
Cornelius
Drew
Caleb
Xander
Tobias
Xavier
Roman

LOVE Joss and Kester!

BEEwitched · 07/12/2013 12:16

Linus is top of my list!

I like Cosmo, Joss and Kester, Sebastian is nice, as well. One that is on my list and has a similar feel is Corvin.

Tikkamasala · 07/12/2013 12:49

Finnian

I love Jesse.

What about Heath? I Always wanted a Heath. If we'd been able to have another child, it would've been Heath.

bundaberg · 07/12/2013 19:22

namenotmine... you reckon Jesse then huh? Grin

I am so loving this thread. when ds2 was born I got told that his name (Gabriel) was wanky Hmm

so i was prepared to be utterly slated here. You all just have great taste Grin

toffeejungle several of the ones on your list were on mine originally but I had to be ruthless the other day trying to cut it down lol

Cosmo
Sebastian
Gabriel
Asa

Of the others, Skyler doesn't seem to fit with your other names at all and is my least favourite.

HavantGuard · 07/12/2013 19:30

Oops. I read your sons names as extra potential names.

They're very nice Grin

thecakeisalie · 07/12/2013 20:40

Loving a thread with unusual boys names makes me feel like maybe were not completely mental after all. We've got two boys already with unusual/not commonly used names so I'm finding picking another boys name really hard.

My DH loves the name Gaius and it was name we've considered for each of our boys but I've always felt slightly reserved about using it. I find with unusual names you have to have complete conviction in your choice as you get so many comments - like you say a thick skin is needed! It's interesting to see someone else suggesting it makes me think maybe I should reconsider it as a contender I reckon it would make Dh's day if I did!

To add to your list what about -

Spencer
Gideon
Tristan
Morgan
Tobias

Off your lists my favorite is probably Joss or Jesse and Gaius.

BlackberryandNettle · 07/12/2013 22:13

I think Cosmo goes best with brothers names

BlackberryandNettle · 07/12/2013 22:15

Other options - Rufus or Guy or Fergus

BlackberryandNettle · 07/12/2013 22:18

Or Ivor

Yika · 07/12/2013 22:25

Jesse by far.

Lighthousekeeping · 07/12/2013 23:17

Love Jonah. Skyler is becoming popular. Cosmo is fab. I like Hector and Bruno too.

mathanxiety · 08/12/2013 07:32

I really like Cosmo, Finnian and Josiah. I think Cosmo and Josiah would go better with the other names however.

I love Isaiah.
Would you consider --
Micah
Barnaby
Solomon
Phineas
Jude
Cornelius
?

From your list ...
Beau
Jesse
Sebastian
Joss
Skyler
Kester
Caius/Gaius
Finnian
Josiah

... I don't think Beau, Joss (except as NN), Kester, Caius/Gaius and especially Skylar are in the same league as your other names, which are all cool Biblical names.

RightInTheKisser · 08/12/2013 07:46

Shiloh

From your list I love Beau.

Oriunda · 08/12/2013 13:12

I'm obviously very brave because I have a Cosmo! I think it's a fab name.

bundaberg · 08/12/2013 19:25

Oriunda what kind of reaction do you get to it?

OP posts:
Oriunda · 08/12/2013 22:23

No reaction really, at least nothing negative I've ever noticed. I live in an area where uncommon/'brave' names are fairly popular so Cosmo doesn't really stand out that much.

However, I'm not one of these people that give a monkey's what other people think. I think Cosmo is a great name, it suits my son (and it's also a family name as DH is Italian so ticks all our boxes).

Tapiocapearl · 08/12/2013 22:53

Cosmo or Sebastian

Tapiocapearl · 08/12/2013 22:55

Jago?
