Never met a Chantelle/Shantell/Chantal that I've liked.

Kanes are an issue, too.

overmydeadbody · 30/11/2013 18:48

This will end in tears.

I teach a very lovely Kane actually.

tinselkitty · 30/11/2013 18:49

All the Oliver's I've ever taught have been off the wall!

Was too of my DH boys list. Good thing we had a girl!

Morgause · 30/11/2013 18:49

Simons are all a bit mad. Never taught a sane one.

Littlecurrentbun · 30/11/2013 18:50

My favourite was called Maeve!

busylizzie76 · 30/11/2013 18:50

This is not going to be helpful as I've had lovely and irksome kids with the same name....so it's nothing to do with the name....more the personality and behaviour Grin

stillenacht · 30/11/2013 18:50

Sean/Shaun/Ryan/Lewis/Louis

Have had bad experiences as a younger teacher with boys with these names.

Errr girls... Not overly keen on Lauren, Leanne, Kelly

stillenacht · 30/11/2013 18:51

But have taught some lovely girls with those names

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/11/2013 18:52

I teach a lovely Chantelle and have taught a couple of wonderful Simons too. Kane not a good omen, generally.

DrMcDreamysWife · 30/11/2013 18:52

See on MN in general I'm a big defender of teachers - I'm usually suggesting handing out grips to parents who feel a bit hard done by, telling posters "oh don't be so silly" when they feel a teacher is being a bit off with them etc. This thread makes me wonder why - I mean of course this is just subjective but Christ I hope you leave this ridiculous notions outside the classroom.

Theresomethingaboutdairy · 30/11/2013 20:42

Hard working - Emily, Isobel, Charlotte, Henry, Amelia, Sophie, Olivia, Jessica, Benjamin, Hannah, Lucy, Edward, James, Caitlin, Grace.

'Naughty' names- Callum, Connor, Taylor, Chantelle, Ethan, Chardonnay, Brooke, Ashley/Ashleigh, Carly, Riley, Dawson.

Harry's seem to go either way!

Obviously these are massive generalisations.

Theresomethingaboutdairy · 30/11/2013 20:45

Oh yes and Jordan.

TawdryTatou · 30/11/2013 20:48

They're all judgements from hindsight. I turn up each September with an open mind.

Thesebootsweremadeforwalking · 30/11/2013 22:06

Hmm. This is precisely why DC have mid-top 100 Old Testament, non-controversial names.

Thesebootsweremadeforwalking · 30/11/2013 22:07

*Our DC

superram · 30/11/2013 22:22

I agree with drmc-especially Conor.
Also Luke's are naughty as is jade.

And yes we do leave these 'labels' outside the classroom but I have still yet to meet a well behaved Conor.

I also taught a lovely maeve and Thomas.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/11/2013 22:26

One of my favourite pupils ever (not that I have favourites really!) was a Callum.

MrsT2007 · 30/11/2013 22:31

Naughty boys; Kyle, Callum, Connor, Jayden/Kayden, Cain Lewis, Aaron, or any child who refers to themselves as initial eg PJ or TJ.
Girls; Chloe, Taylor.....actually, girls are a much more mixed bag.

I've taught both delightful and vile of;
Charlotte, Adam, Danielle Georgia, Ethan, George

For some reason boys names tend to segregate much more than girls do?

Thesebootsweremadeforwalking · 30/11/2013 22:54

Strikes me that these "naughty" lists could become self-fulfilling prophecies.
