Would Ruthie go well with a surname that has a 'ey' ending.

For eg, Ruthie Turbey

Or is it a bit much?

Why not just Ruth?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/11/2013 21:38

Ruth is lovely. Ruthie is a bit strange as a given name, I think, and even more so with an 'ey' surname. Sorry.

poocatcherchampion · 29/11/2013 21:38

what they said.

Sunnysummer · 29/11/2013 21:45

Agree with (ahem) poocatcher and the others.

Ruthie is a cute nickname but a weird given name. Could you call her Ruth and then avoid the whole issue?

Leeds2 · 29/11/2013 21:46

I would call her Ruth (nn Ruthie) too.

PrincessFlirtyPants · 29/11/2013 21:53

I like Ruth as a given name and even though I normally hate nicknames I really like Ruthie as a NN.

DH thinks Ruth is a bit old fashioned but likes Ruthie.

It's a bit too close to roofie for my liking. Sorry.

PrincessFlirtyPants · 29/11/2013 22:36

Ah, yes. Good point T100. Not the nicest association.
