I have an Eloise, so of course I love it :) no others in her class. It gets misspelt a lot, that's the only negative.

CarlaBrooni · 04/10/2013 17:48

Timeless and beautiful I'd say.

bundaberg · 04/10/2013 17:52

really lovely name.

MollyBerry · 04/10/2013 19:00

Really really nice Smile

TheOriginalNutcracker · 04/10/2013 19:01

Love it

LittleRedDinosaur · 04/10/2013 19:02

I likes it Smile pretty for a little girl but grown up enough for a grown up

TCOB · 04/10/2013 19:03

Beautiful! Unusual and classic, as well as strong-sounding to my mind.

Beamur · 04/10/2013 19:03

Pretty name. I only know one.

likelucklove · 04/10/2013 19:05

I have an Eloise. I always get comments on how lovely the name is.

Trying not to out myself too much, her middle name rhymes with mace Grin I put a thread up asking about middle names, was about 2 years ago if you have a look. I had lots of good suggestions.

KissMyStardust · 04/10/2013 19:06

Lovely! Was on the shortlist for my DD.

SanityClause · 04/10/2013 19:08

love it. It's on our short list.

minipie · 04/10/2013 21:23

oh good to see all these replies, we have one. I've met two other baby Eloises though so suspect it's becoming more popular...

lestagal78 · 04/10/2013 22:36

I love it, I wish I'd have used it for DD's middle name instead of Louise.

TransatlanticCityGirl · 06/10/2013 11:20

Love it.

I'm biased as I have got an Eloise.

However, we chose it because it is a classic name, in that it is not associated with an era. I know people called Eloise from who would be in their 30s now, right down to small children.

I personally liked it because I felt it was feminine and pretty without the ubiquitous trend for the -ie/ee/y ending. It wasn't too little girlie too.

My DD is the only one in her school, and certainly between 1998 - 2006, the name never got higher than the top 75. So there's not too many of them around. Although bizarrely, my DD is one of 3 at her gym club!

Chacha23 · 07/10/2013 11:36

if you think it's becoming too popular (doubt it), you can always try the French spelling, Héloïse!

BettyBi0 · 08/10/2013 05:49

It's lovely. I'm nicking it for my short list thanks

smithwillsam · 08/10/2013 12:15

Eloise As a first name gives you a very independent nature, yet you are friendly, approachable, and generous. If you want know this name meaning and any more details. You can visit on this link. www.babynology.com/meaning-eloise-f22.html

squoosh · 08/10/2013 12:56

I think it's one of those names that will become super popular. I'd put it in the same category as Amelie, Isabelle, Emily.

It's ok but a bit weedy for me.

"I think it's one of those names that will become super popular. I'd put it in the same category as Amelie, Isabelle, Emily."

People said that to me when I was pregnant with my DD 10 years ago. Back then ('03) Ellie and Ella were super popular names, and lots of people thought it would become another Ellie / Ella top 10 type name (or so I was told on Mumsnet when I asked back in 03!) Never happened though - Its never gone higher than 75 since 1998!
