What do you think of Wallace as a boy's name? It's listed on Mumsnet's Baby Name Finder.

Fine.

Especially if you have a Yorkshire accent and like wensleydale.

Auntfini · 11/09/2013 06:46

And gromit

buttercrumble · 11/09/2013 06:46

Sorry don't like it

curlew · 11/09/2013 06:47

Well, if calling your child Wally feels like a good idea to you.........

exoticfruits · 11/09/2013 06:52

Bound to be Wally -and forever connected with 'where's Wally' or Gromit.

Monkeyandanimal · 11/09/2013 07:03

What about it as a girls name? Like Wallace Simpson? I think that's rather classy actually. not that i'd use it though.....

Bunbaker · 11/09/2013 07:04

Or even Wallis Simpson Grin.

As a name there is too much association with Gromit, so it's a no from me.

Monkeyandanimal · 11/09/2013 07:06

oh ok, Bun! Blush

Saffyz · 11/09/2013 08:40

... and Gromit

ErrolTheDragon · 11/09/2013 08:47

Its even worse now that Wallace reminds everyone of Ed Milliband.

Sorry.

ch1134 · 11/09/2013 15:38

I think it's lovely!

ChristineDaae · 11/09/2013 15:39

Gromit, sorry

Wildwaterfalls · 11/09/2013 15:40

I know a very nice adult Wallace. No issues with the name.

MrsOakenshield · 11/09/2013 15:42

Gromit.
Simpson.

Neither good.

Frikadellen · 11/09/2013 16:26

I like it but be prepared to get load so of Gromit questions

AuntyPippaAndUncleHarry · 11/09/2013 16:29

Don't do it to the kid.

curlew · 11/09/2013 16:31

"I like it but be prepared to get load so of Gromit questions"

So the parent had better be prepared for lots of Gromit questions. What about the child? Does he just have to suck it up?

GibberTheMonkey · 11/09/2013 16:33

Wallis Simpsons first name was Bessie. Her middle name was Wallis but used in the way that people sometimes have surnames as middle names

Hazelbrowneyes · 11/09/2013 16:33

And Gromit.

Sorry - first thing to spring to mind.

Scarletohello · 11/09/2013 16:36

Yes and then call your next child Gromit. Hours of fun..! :)

MissManaged · 11/09/2013 16:38

Sorry, I'm another who immediately thought of "gromit" and nothing else.
Something with a less obvious association might be kinder.
