Sorry for another post, hopefully my last one. We've finally come up with a girl's name we both really like, please tell me you like it. Just need some reassurance Smile Of course, do say if you don't like it and why. Thanks!

We have an Imogen - she is 6 and lights up our world. We still love her name and so glad we chose it. she was very nearly a Erin but she definately is an Imogen. It is uncommon but not too unusual. An excellent choice!

I like it, but there seems to be a lot of Mumsnet mums with one?

LeoandBoosmum · 04/09/2013 23:03

big yes :)

Frangepani · 05/09/2013 01:20

Love it. Have heard it shortened to Imo.

It's a lovely name, one of my favourites.

Lutrine · 05/09/2013 07:59

Lovely name, I really like it.

TiredyCustards · 05/09/2013 08:01

It's lovely.

I worked with an Imogen who was known as Imo

undecidedstill · 05/09/2013 09:35

Thank you so much for your lovely comments! Think I can definitely change my nickname to 'decided' now Smile Nice to hear what nicknames your Imogens have too. x

I have an Imogen too, nn's- Imy, Midge, Imo & Moo, she answers to all of them! Beautiful name! Congratulations

spacegirl81 · 05/09/2013 13:18

Lovely name Smile

undecidedstill · 05/09/2013 13:27

thank you! Smile I'm a bit upset because I've just learned she would be sharing a name incl surname with a certain 'model' who's existence I was blissfully unaware of until now. Does that mean I can't use it for our little girl? Feel gutted as I was so happy we found something we both really love Sad

I wouldn't let that influence you - had never heard of that model till I googled just now. Focus on the fact that you both love it - and think of all the positive associations with the name that have been mentioned on here!

thegreylady · 05/09/2013 13:49

I love Imogen and my cousin has a beautiful 2 year old named Imogen Rose.It is a Shakespearean name. They shorten it to Ginny except for her uncle who insists on Immy.

NadiaWadia · 05/09/2013 18:45

Imogen is a lovely name. And I'm sure nobody will remember this model (whoever she is) is 5 years time. She is just one insignificant and untypical Imogen. I would associate it more with the Shakespeare character and maybe the actress Imogen Stubbs.

To let this put you off using the name you both love would be daft.

orangepudding · 05/09/2013 18:49

I think it's a lovely name.

undecidedstill · 05/09/2013 20:34

thank you all, and you're quite right Frange and Nadia, it would be silly not to go with it for that reason. Certainly people wouldn't dream of making fun of a little girl because she happens to share a name with someone like that. Besides which I can't face trying to come up with another name yet again at such short notice.
