Thoughts on Crispin?

Is it too wet?
I'm quite liking it at the moment - means curly haired, and all my DSs have curly hair. (Knowing my luck if I name this baby Crispin it will have the straightest hair ever though.)

So, Crispin? Yes or No?

Yep wet!

Crispin and Tarquin are not that nice imo.

But Martin, Robin, Quentin and other -in names are perfectly fine imo. Justin maybe not though Grin.

Hmm I've met 2 Crispins, 1 is always now known by the nn 'Rice' and the other is 'Walkers'........

It might make people quote Henry V.

"And rouse him at the name of Crispian."

Or it might remind people of the detective fiction writer Edmund Crispin. Or possibly nobody has heard of him. I will get me coat.

I think it's a lovely name but that's just me.

Just my opinion but it's the type of name a female picks for a male but a male wouldn't pick for himself iykwim. I suppose it might sound feminine in a way. Okay, so you probably summed it all up in one word - wet.

I knew a really cool, very nice Crispin when I was a teenager - nearly 30 years ago. Have never met another since. He wasn't wet at all so I don't see it that way. It's a good name IMHO.

If I met someone called Crispin I might giggle a little.. sorry

Northernexile · 03/09/2013 22:57

It also makes me think of the Longpigs
It's definitely a posh / wet name though imo, so I wouldn't, personally.
