...singing of Mount Abora.

Isn't the spelling wrong? I know that Dulcima is a Spanish (I think ) girls' name but I thought that a dulcimer was an instrument?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 27/08/2013 13:36

The 10th grandchild of one of my mum's friends was called Decima - poor thing!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 27/08/2013 13:36

Oh - and another friend was adamant his first child, if a boy, was going to be named Hal (OK so far), short for Halibut! Luckily his dw prevailed.

ShadowSummer · 27/08/2013 13:42

curlew - I think DH would strongly veto Dulcimer if I suggested it as a name for DC2!

Although I do think that Dulcimer is a much nicer name than Halibut. Better to be named after a musical instrument than a fish, right?

littlemog · 27/08/2013 13:50

Dulcima is a name not an instrument!

LazyMonkeyButler · 27/08/2013 13:54

I quite like it actually! Not enough to use it, but I prefer it to some of the names I read about on here - Maude, Mabel, Pippa, Philippa etc.

Oh, I don't know. Minnow is quite sweet, and there's Zander. And wasn't there a pathologist in 'Inspector Morse' called Grayling?

How about Sting Ray? Grin

lljkk · 27/08/2013 14:56

I like Dulcimer better than a lot of MN girl faves.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 27/08/2013 15:02

Littlemog - Dulcima is a name, but dulcimer IS an instrument - trust me, I'm a music graduate.

Laquila · 29/08/2013 01:50

I actually don't hate Dulcimer, and I can imagine it quite suiting the more solemn kind of little girl.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 29/08/2013 08:45

EnjoyEverySandwich a Dulcibella in your family tree Envy Smile how exotic!

ReadytoOrderSir · 29/08/2013 09:01

A damsel with a dulcimer in a vision I once saw...

littleomar · 29/08/2013 09:14

I was nearly called Dulcimer. Luckily my father vetoed it.
