What do you think of these 3 for boys?

Elwyn is probably the only one that I like if I'm honest.

Henson sounds like a surname (which I don't like being used for first names) and Laylen sounds like a girl's name x

DinoSnores · 21/08/2013 10:31

Agree with everything Writer said.

MrsDavidBowie · 21/08/2013 10:37

Nd I agree too.
Henson reminds me of Gavin Henson, a prime knob.

ClaraOswald · 21/08/2013 10:42

Elwyn sounds very LOTR, Henson is very much associated with Gavin, especially in Wales, the last did sound like it's a girls name.

However, if you really love them use them.

WhereBeThatBlackbirdTo · 21/08/2013 10:45

I also agree with writer

fanjodisfunction · 21/08/2013 10:51

I like Elwyn and Henson, I thought of Jim Henson (creator of muppets) rather than Gavin.

Laylen is unsual, I thought it was Layton at first.

Which is your fav OP?

squoosh · 21/08/2013 12:01

Elwyn - LOTR
Henson - Gavin the Gobshite (it pains me that I think of him first rather than Jim the Genius)
Laylen - It's just a bit silly

Writerwannabe83 · 21/08/2013 12:51

What does LOTR mean???? Smile

squoosh · 21/08/2013 12:52

Lord of the Rings.

Hatecoffee · 21/08/2013 15:24

I really like Elwyn, I do know an Elwyn and he's a lovely chap!

I also like Henson...my first thought was Gavin but I do like and know Gavin Henson i think its a pretty cool name.

EhricLovesTeamQhuay · 21/08/2013 20:07

Leylen? Where's that from then? It's not great. Henson is ok but I'm not keen of SAFNs. Elwyn is quite cool, presuming its a real name and not from LOTR.

nkf · 21/08/2013 20:11

I don't like any of them. None of them even sound like names to me.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 21/08/2013 20:15

None of them, sorry.
Elwyn sounds like a female elf's name. Henson is a surname and instantly makes me think of muppets. Laylen sounds like a van making company.

mejon · 21/08/2013 22:44

Elwyn is a traditional Welsh name and quite old fashioned if I'm being honest. The other two don't really 'match' and I don't think much of Laylen -sorry.

jalapeno · 22/08/2013 08:28

I had an ancient uncle Elwyn on my mum's side when I was little, obviously Welsh...I quite like it! Might put it on the list but suspect DH will hate it...

Don't like the other two, sorry.

EroticTebbit · 22/08/2013 08:31

Laylen sounds like an oddball from Twin Peaks, Henson= Kermit.
I am Welsh and Elwyn is the equivalent of Clive or Nigel.

UriGeller · 22/08/2013 08:36

Don't like any. I reckon they all sound like made up or deliberately misheard variations of odd words.

Here's where you tell us they are all fine old traditional indigenous Anglo Saxon heraldic names of yore, isn't it?

lljkk · 22/08/2013 09:08

thumbs down for me on all (sorry).
I went to school with a Thane. That was cool & it's from old English (heraldic, etc.)

DinoSnores · 23/08/2013 21:08

I know a 3 year old Elwyn. (His dad is Welsh.)

LongGoneBeforeDaylight · 23/08/2013 21:14

Mmm bop

noodlebum · 24/08/2013 13:58

I like Laylen best Smile

Karbea · 24/08/2013 14:03

Agree they sound made up and therefore and bit chavvy to me, sorry.

GrasshopperNchipmunk · 26/08/2013 18:52

I love Elwyn and it is on my list as we are expecting a boy at the end of the year. Have you thought about Owain? Similar sounding and great history behind the name

Littlecherublegs · 26/08/2013 20:19

Not keen on any of them, sorry.

First thoughts were:
Elwyn - Welsh
Henson - Jim (muppets)
Laylen - Leyland (a place near where I live)

If I had to choose one it would be Henson.
I don't mind some surname-y names though prefer Jackson, Jameson or Wilson.
