Feeling sick to my stomach that Katie Price has just named her baby the same name as my son!

Currently holding my head in my hands rocking back and forth screaming "whhhhyyyyyyyyyyy?!?!"

Well, not really..... But I feel like doing that. I thought I had hit the jackpot with Jett, unique yet masculine and not too weird sounding and now KATIE PRICE has named her son Jett too.

Sorry, just had to have a rant. :(

Its your woman actual real child as well, perhaps you and op should remember that.

pictish · 19/08/2013 00:15

That's no excuse, and you know it.

ChimeForChange · 19/08/2013 00:17

It's all very suspicious really....

8 weeks early and weighed 5lb 2?

OnTheBottomWithAWomensWeekly · 19/08/2013 00:18

Youre right, there is no excuse for ops post.

pictish · 19/08/2013 00:19

Ugh.

Capitola · 19/08/2013 00:22

I think that any name chosen by KP can almost guarantee it will not become a popular baby's name.

OnTheBottom: self indulgent because, if no one has asked for your opinion why on earth would you think that anyone would give a flying fuck as to whether you like it or not? You & your opinion are really not that special. Some people seem to think that it's MUCH more important to give everyone their unasked for opinion than it is to be civil of polite. It's really quite tiresome.

Lighthousekeeping · 19/08/2013 00:37

Chime, she said all along that she'd never been so big in pregnancy meaning her baby could be on the large size. What are you getting at????

LazyMonkeyButler · 19/08/2013 00:41

I really like the name Jett - I doubt I'd ever have managed to get DH to agree, but I love it!

I do feel bad making a joke about it, as KP ended up having an emergency C-section & baby Jett is 8 weeks prem but when I heard the name I immediately thought "ah, conceived in Torquay" Blush.

I wouldn't worry too much about a popularity rise OP - there may well be one, but because of the way KP is viewed in the UK, there will just as many parents looking to name their babies anything other than Jett.

3boysgirlontheway · 19/08/2013 02:00

I always liked Jethro for a boy, glad I didn't use it now.

Katie prices story is very strange.

AberdeenAngusina · 19/08/2013 03:13

I think you're safe enough. If you'd named your son Harvey, no-one would think you were naming him after KP's son.

Jett isn't as "out there" are Princess or Junior; it's a perfectly good name.

Enjoy your DS!

TheBleedinObvious · 19/08/2013 03:30

I quite like Jett, but I am sure there have been several other celebrity babies called this as it is very familiar, yet unusual and I have never met one.

Don't worry op, I'm sure it will be one more popular but I doubt it will become overly popular.

GiveMeVegemite · 19/08/2013 07:07

anjou thanks for actually being nice about my post, which was in no way trying to be snobby, it was more tongue in cheek. I was just disappointed that Jett may now become popular because Katie Price has used it.

I don't give a flying f*#+k whether any other users on this site actually LIKE the name. I love it and it suits my little boy and that's all that matters.

You're welcome, Vegemite. Smile

SirChenjin · 19/08/2013 08:42

Never mind OP - it shows you have the same taste as Katie Price Grin Grin

Trills · 19/08/2013 08:44

If you are horrified that Katie Price has a son with the same name as yours...

... then I think we can safely assume that you don't mix in circles where people would deliberately name their child the same name as Katie Price's child

Trills · 19/08/2013 08:45

What are her other children called? Has there actually been an increase in children being called those names?

(go look at the ONS, see if they are up or down or not in the top thousand)

Harvey, Princess something or other, and Junior

whiteandyellowiris · 19/08/2013 09:12

I think it will become less popular now tbh

is your baby older than 6 weeks?
could you change the name, if you are that upset about it

I miss admit I was surprised to hear the baby was over 5lb at 32 weeks

AnnaNimitty · 19/08/2013 09:33

Have some of the trolls from Ask.fm ventured onto Mumsnet??

worldcitizen · 19/08/2013 09:41

anna that would be too good to be true, but I'm afraid too many posters are regulars.
I have actually reported this thread for the many nasty replies.

MustTidyUpMustTidyUp · 19/08/2013 10:01
