Is Elsa a complete name?

Pretty set on using Elsa if DC2 (due in 2 days) is a girl. Just can't decide whether it's a full name in it's own right, or whether it's a short version of Elizabeth. What do you think?

I think of it as a full name. It wouldn't even occur to me that it was a nn for Elizabeth if I was introduced to an Elsa.

It is a full name, and a lovely one at that. Was on list for DD.

It's a perfect name. I think it's Scandinavian and hasn't got anything to do with Elizabeth there. I quite liked it too.

I agree it's a full name. I really like it and have an Aunt named Ailsa, which is a variant spelling. I think it is distantly related to Elizabeth it doesn't make me think of Elizabeth at all. Lovely choice.

I love it as a full name, always makes me think of the lioness (in a good way)

It's one of our family names (German family) and tends to be pronounced as "Elza" rather than with a soft "s" by my central European relations, although the anglicised ones say "Elssa"

I don't particularly love it, but think it is a lot nicer than Elsie.

Yes definitely a full name. I have a 3 year old cousin named Elsa and I think it's a lovely name. She's named as 'Elizabeth' on her birth certificate but from day 1 has been known as Elsa.
