Rafe

Anjou · 07/08/2013 23:32

Idris is amazing and will be DS3 (not that DH will let us have a DS3!).

Oisìn is lovely and I really like the Scottish version, Ossian (pronounced as spelt).

LazyMonkeyButler · 07/08/2013 23:38

I really don't like Rafe, sorry. Far too pretentious sounding for me.

Orin - I like but prefer Torin.
Asa - nice enough but not sure it goes well with Arlo.
Rufus - a dog.
Oisin - I don't know this name & can imagine there may be issues with spelling/pronunciation in the future.
Otis - Reading. Neither love nor hate.
Idris - quite nice.
Jesse - I love but it does sound feminine.

Admittedly I only know one Raffi, but he is Raphael, not Rafe. I'm not sure I'd necessarily link Raffi to Rafe in my mind, FWIW. Nicest name from your list though IMO.

NoComet · 07/08/2013 23:53

Idris
Rufus
Orin

In that order, another Ivor fan

Otis will forever remind me of the universities useless lift.

We permanently had men with Otis on there jackets failing to make the stupid thing stop level with the floors.

Since I had to cart about great tall gas cylinders on rickety two wheeled trollies this mattered to me and to the technicians with all manner of trollies of glaswear.

NoComet · 07/08/2013 23:54

Sorry diabolical grammar, university's and their Blush

pinkandsparklytoo · 08/08/2013 00:03

I vote for Orin, same name as my friends DS. I like Jesse too, I wanted it for DS2 but DH was having none of it.

kiwik · 08/08/2013 00:31

Oisín - is one of my DS's middle names.
I love Rufus too, so am nicking that for my list.

Not so keen on the others, but I like Ivo and Aneurin, which are in a similar vein.

BlueStarsAtNight · 08/08/2013 09:50

Oisín - not a fan, will cause issues with spelling and pronunciation I would expect.
Asa- ok, but sounds like a girls name
Rafe (raffi) - sorry but really dislike it- it makes me think of a skinny dark haired slimy salesman who is really arrogant and pretentious!
Otis - love it, def my favourite
Jesse - ok, but bittoo feminine for me
Idris - ok, but again if I didn't know it was for a boy I'd think this was a girls name
Orin - ok
Rufus - makes me think dog

littlepeas · 08/08/2013 10:03

I like Oisin - it is the name of the Irish giant deer at the little museum in our town - not that this has any relevance! I like Jesse and Rufus from your list. I also like Raffi, but am not keen on Rafe - what about Raphael?

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 08/08/2013 10:14

I really don't like Raphael.
I like Rafferty, but it's too long with our surname. He'd be Raffi mostly, with Rafe as a 'grown up' option.

And we really don't mind if a name sounds feminine.

Love Rufus and also like Asa and Oisín (but suggest there might be pronunciation issues there).

WideScreenViper · 08/08/2013 10:56

I do like these choices but if I had to narrow it I'd go for Rufus or Idris, I think they go best with the sibs names. Perhaps Otis if having four letters to match is important. I never liked deciding on just one name beforehand, anyway, just in case it was not " them ".

Shrugged · 08/08/2013 13:23

Oisin, by miles. I'm afraid that no matter how often I remind myself of Otis Redding, it still makes me think of being stuck in lifts!

pygmy · 08/08/2013 13:36

Rufus
