A lot of the A names are lovely, but personally I don't like alliterative siblings. Another lovely A name is Ariadne, but v similar to your dd1 (so I suspect that in some cases we have v similar taste in names!).

Jewel as a mn would be a sweet way to commemorate your dh's sister - and nobody ever really uses the mn anyway, if you were worried about it being a bit way out.

Do you like Lucretia too? Lovely name and a brilliant song by The Sisters of Mercy too!

Estelle - OK, but not for me
Estella - sounds Spanish
Estée - not unless you're French
Eloise - as in Abelard and... no
Eloisa - no
Soléne - never heard of it, awful (and think you have the accent on the e the wrong way round)
Auréja - no, unless you're whatever nationality the name is
Aurelia - not bad
Anastasia - not bad
Florence - lovely
Imogen - lovely
Genevieve - lovely
Octavia - not unless she's your 8th daughter
Lucrécia - you have to be joking (and again with the accent)
Evelyn - not bad
Helena - nice
Lucrécia - as above
Julietta - not bad
Savannah - not a name
Olivia - nice, but quite popular
Olive - and Popeye. No
Adonia - not a name
Anais - not unless you're French
Anya - not bad
Artemis - boy's name
Anadien (sp?) - never heard of it, sounds like a boy's name
Beatrix/Beatrice/Bea - nice
Benedetta - not unless you're whatever natinoality....etc
Isla - Scottish - but quite nice
Theodora/Teodora - with the h, unless you're whatever nationality..., but dont' really like it
Annaliese/Anneliese/Aneliese - no
Katia/Kasia - not unless you're whatever natinoality....etc
Edith - lovely
Scarlette - no (but Scarlet is OK)
Sibella/Sibylla - no. sounds like a disease or a plant
Emmeline - OK
Clara - lovely
Natalia - OK, but prefer Natalie
Penelope - lovely
Artemis - boy's name
Fluer - ??? never heard of it
Jewel - you have to be joking
Phaedra - ditto

Freda - lovely
Eléonore - no
Grace - too popular
Darya - no

Penelope.

Confitdecanard · 08/08/2013 17:08

I like lots from your list - particularly Eloise, Olive and Beatrix. Solene should have a grave accent (one that points down not up) on the first e.

chattychattyboomba · 08/08/2013 17:41

Thanks for the tip...Solène!
I think I have quite a few names with 'wrong' spelling...e.g Scarlette/Scarlet, but I actually saw the name with ette spelling (a client's email) and thought it looked pretty.
F.y.i Artemis is in fact a girl's name.
I also really strongly disagree that just because a name is not your main language it can't be used.
I happen to love Greek, French and Italian sounding names among others.
(Duel Australian/British with Irish/British background married to Dual Australian/British with Scottish/French background)...
We like what we like because we do. Wink

Some lovely names. I like Fleur and Penelope best.
What's your boys list?? (Looking for inspiration !)

chattychattyboomba · 08/08/2013 18:03

This is all I have so far- not very inspiring but I struggle with boys names!
P.s. before anyone says anything very nasty, consider that some of the names on here are in honour of vey special people who have passed away. If you don't like the name, fine, but no mocking please Smile
Julian
Aurelius
Aurelian
Luca
Lucien
Elliot
Theodore
Bowen
Alexander

chattychattyboomba · 08/08/2013 18:39

Thanks Remus. Thinking Theodore for a boy...(Teddy), but these two are top contenders. would like to find a good 'D' name for a boy so if anyone has a suggestion?!
(Just please not Darren/Derren/Derron/Dorian) Grin

I like Estelle, Helena and Beatrix from your girl list, Julian and William from the boy list. (DS3 has William as one of his middle names.)

I like Dominic and Diggory, but can't use any D names as we have a D surname and I don't like the alliteration.

NooMyx · 09/08/2013 21:20

Helena, but it's miiine! Wink (not He-lay-na for me though)

Also like Genevieve, Beatrix, Edith and Penelope. Nothing wrong with most of your names actually.

skyflyer · 11/08/2013 01:00

Soléne is lovely.
