I really like lavender, DH not as keen.
Is it awful?

No it's lovely. I like Primrose too for a middle name

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/07/2013 20:36

I'd instantly think of Harry Potter, if that matters.

I'm not fond of it tbh but I suppose it depends on how nice it sounds with the chosen first name.

Wbdn28 · 15/07/2013 22:26

Potential for some less nice nicknames though (Lav?)

Wbdn28 · 15/07/2013 22:27

I guess you wouldn't have nicknames for the middle name though so ignore that!

BlueStarsAtNight · 15/07/2013 22:50

All depends on the first name, but I don't dislike it - my first thought was of Roald Dahl's Matilda.

The full name would be Sophia Lavender Mae
or Sophia Elizabeth.

I think Sophia Lavender Mae is such a pretty name!

I actually went to college with a Lavender but she was known as 'Lovey' for short, which I thought was such a lovely nickname.

Rhubarbgarden · 16/07/2013 12:58

I think Sophie Lavender flows better, but that doesn't really matter. Sophia Lavender is still nice.

MrsMongoose · 16/07/2013 19:56

Why Mae? Seems with both of your options you've chosen lovely, classy names (Sophia, Elizabeth and Lavender) and then stuck trendy, common Mae on the end of one.

NewChoos · 16/07/2013 20:41

Because of surname, hard to explain but works better!
