Charlotte Elizabeth Frances Mary
Kate's mother's/sister's middle name, The queen's name/Kate's middle name, Diana's middle name and the queen's second middle name.

Arthur Henry Michael Phillip
Arthur is just what I fancy, Henry for Harry, Michael for Kate's father and Phillip for HRH!

Anything else I've managed to rule out due to bad associations (or I'm just not willing to accept they'd choose a name I don't like)

And I've convinced myself they won't use Diana or they won't be allowed

I've spent way more time than I'd like to admit researching this...

bornagaindomesticgoddess · 17/07/2013 15:24

Lizzie Diana or Louis Henry.

PeriodMath · 17/07/2013 18:21

I am certain it's going to be Alice Elizabeth Mary Diana.

Fenton · 17/07/2013 18:27

Mary is another name for Lady garden where I come from.

AstroSnot · 17/07/2013 21:49

Anna ? Simple and regal.

mathanxiety · 18/07/2013 00:44

Squoosh
My middle name, the middle name of EVERY Irish woman my age.

Me too, and then I gave it to DD4 as her MN.

Mary of Teck (real name Victoria Mary Augusta Louise Olga Pauline Claudine Agnes but usually known as 'May' until she became Queen Consort) was George V's wife. Her mother was Princess Mary Adelaide.

mewkins · 19/07/2013 21:24

Yes Eleanor coukd be a contender.

OneStepCloser · 19/07/2013 21:52

Definitely George for a boy and Victoria for a girl, but Id like Jane.

DonDrapersAltrEgoBigglesDraper · 19/07/2013 21:57

Out of interest, why do you think it's definitely going to be Victoria for a girl?

I think that is one of the least likely names, if it's a girl.

There's already been a hugely successful reigning Victoria - wouldn't they want to give this child its own identity?

Victoria is a bit dated - lots of 30-something women with the name (not that this is a reason on its own not to use it). And Vicky is really not great.

Oh, and that very famous 30-something woman with the name. They wouldn't want to give any hint of naming the child after her, would they?! Wink

DonDrapersAltrEgoBigglesDraper · 19/07/2013 22:00

But agree with Jane. Fabulously, simple, non-frilly, elegant, classic name.

And no, Lady Jane Grey is not a reason not to use it.

BlueStarsAtNight · 19/07/2013 22:09

Ooh I like Jane - might be a silly question but would she be Queen Jane II? Does Lady Jane Grey "count"?!

Mintyy · 19/07/2013 22:12

Love the name Mary. Love it.

Unfortunately, the only woman I have ever truly hated in my whole long life is called Mary. If this were not the case then I would have named dd Mary.

BOF · 19/07/2013 22:15

Who the fuck is Alice?

Dunno, Alice doesn't live here anymore.

OneStepCloser · 19/07/2013 22:18

The definitely is just my definitely via my own telephatic powers Grin but I have had a little think, would they call their baby the same name as Victoria beckham hmm, what about Elizabeth?

CoolStoryBro · 19/07/2013 22:19

Am I the only one who is secretly hoping that they have been reading the MN baby name threads and choose a "K" name as a giant F you to all the ridiculous snobbery on there?!! Grin

Snazzyenjoyingsummer · 19/07/2013 22:34

I love Mary - classic and underused at least in Britain - but don't think they will pick it.

ashlee I like all your suggestions, but I disagree on Diana - I think they will use it as a middle name.

KittenofDoom · 19/07/2013 23:12

If it's a girl, then being as she would be the first girl in no danger of being bumped from the succession by a younger brother ... an interesting and appropriate choice would be Matilda. Matilda should have been Queen on the death of her father Henry I, but was denied by the barons who installed Stephen as king.

DonDrapersAltrEgoBigglesDraper · 20/07/2013 02:54

Nooo, definitely not Elizabeth, at least not as a first name. Way too big shoes to fill!

Our current Queen's grandmother was Queen Mary. It wasn't 'too Catholic' for her...

MaggieMaggieMaggieMcGill · 20/07/2013 03:19

There are other names such as Louise and Adelaide that could in theory get a look in.

VBisme · 20/07/2013 04:12

Deffo should be Victoria Mary Elizabeth Alice

mathanxiety · 20/07/2013 04:29

Iirc, there is already a Louise - the DD of Edward and Sophie?

I think Adelaide may be where my money will go.

MortifiedAdams · 20/07/2013 05:39

Im going for Francesca for a girl and Thomas for a boy.

jeee · 20/07/2013 05:48

I suggest they call the child 'Anglesey'. Unique, unisex, and it would annoy Katie Hopkins immensely.

katydid02 · 20/07/2013 06:05

I think they will go for something new and original, like, oh, Jezebel perhaps?

TheRealFellatio · 20/07/2013 06:34

I love Mary and I've been hoping for a comeback for it for a couple of years - maybe this will be it!
